No it wont. I went from a hybrid to a 68mm vgt. Cruising temps stayed the same. Even when I went from a 64mm non vgt to the hybrid then to the 68mm vgt...cruising temps at 65-70mph were exactly the same.

How do you like the stage 3? your running 190/100's correct? What are egt's on WOT runs?No it wont. I went from a hybrid to a 68mm vgt. Cruising temps stayed the same. Even when I went from a 64mm non vgt to the hybrid then to the 68mm vgt...cruising temps at 65-70mph were exactly the same.
I did forget to address that, yes way to early, was more concerned with watching Egts. All of my tunes from Matt shift to early.I have been working with him too.I need to see about getting this tune adjusted too.How was the shifting... did Matt hit shift points first try? He kind of bombed with the shifting on my tunes as did Chris... files from both tuners shifted almost identically. . Way early. . Chris was easier to convince to move shift points.. I will work on Matt soon... lol
I was told to get them to write me a tune.I actually emailed Jesse to see about getting one. While my truck is down at Warren's I'm gonna have Jesse write a street tune for it.
That's seems pretty good, not ideally what I'd like to see, but for your setup and that weight I think your doing better than mostOk today I was able to hook up my 5th.Currently I have Matts unlimited tow loaded,my 5th weighs 12800 dry.I have some pretty good hills here, but basically at 65 once I got leveled out my egts were around 800-850,now of course going up hill they went up,but not real bad maybe 950 depending upon the run before heading up the hill.Truck seems to have more power ,now again this is Matts unlimited( I do have the php atlas 40 ficm tune)which I think adds no power, just trans only adjustments.I will be taking a longer trip in 2 weeks, but the egts seem to be the same as the stock injectors or pretty close as I remember .I am hoping for lower egts once I get the new turbo, but so far, they seem to be in control.
I still think the tow tune could be better.Even with stock injectors there were rpms where the gets are not good, like 55 to 60,but that's not where it likes to run anyway. The other thing is once I get the other turbo,I will still need adjustments.Since I have a ported WPE intake I am sure that helps too.i am still looking at other ideas maybe getting and intercooler down the road.I

on the MTW site they have the stage 2 but i guess like you said its not offered with the .78 but with a .58 comp cover. is the current stage 2 a good match for a set of 190/30?Just to clarify a few things... not that it matters much.
The MTW stage 2 is not offered anymore and was a great turbo. I will explain the differences between the barder and mtw just for clarification
Mtw stage 2
.72ar comp cover
64.7x88 comp
72x66 turbine 13 blade
Barder stage 2
.58 comp cover
64.7x88 comp wheel
72x66 10 blade turbine wheel
The mtw stage 2 is not offered anymore because the desirable .72ar comp covers were hard to come by and got very expensive
So I came across an old thread and your comment and I wanted to see if you could chime in. I have a stage 1 fully built motor bored 20 over with coated fly cut pistons stage 1 cam, Odawg ported intake, banks techi cooler and high ram intake/intercooler system, a stage 2 momentum intake, full arp everything, fast fuel pump regulated fuel return, oring heads, stage 3 water meth injection. New hpop, bd exhaust manifolds and up pipes 4 in down pipe to 5 inch straight exhaust and A turbo time USA gxr11 predator velocity port turbo and a stage 3 ats transmission. Do you think it would be foolish to run 190/30 injectors on my setup in Florida?? I do highway towing. I plan on having several tunes for different weights as heavy would be Gcvw of 45,000lbs and regular would be GCVW of 24,000lbs and empty 9,000 lbs truck that cost me tons to build so besides having the best tow rig I wanna be able to Dyno good and have fun driving empty with out loosing capacity??Most people who are big into towing don't go with 190s. That is just too much fuel and it will be smokey, or you will have to pull a ton of fuel to even make it possible to tow something that heavy. 190s will haul butt!!! But not a lot of weight, unless you can clean them up with a larger turbo charger and more air flow. Although to a certain extent once you get so big on the turbocharger you will have more lag and it will be easier to get under the turbo and it will make towing and egts even worse.
Also what do you have done to the truck so far?
Head studs?
Bulletproff?
Any updates?
Oil cooler?
EGR?
Tranny?
Maybe I can ask this question. Why 190s? Is it for racing and/or dyno... or are you under the impression that it will tow more?
I don't have a tow queen but I heavy followed many people on this forum and bigger is not always better unless you have LOTS OF MONEY!!!
155/30 and a stage 1 turbo has proven to be a great tow combo. You can actually floor it up hill on a good tune. With 190s you will have to be constantly watching your egts, pulling fuel from the tune, and with a big turbo that can actually clean up your 190s you will lug the motor and fall under the turbo and also have much more turbo lag. No reason to get a giant injector that will just have a ton of fuel pulled on it... Unless you are looking for a major dual purpose truck??? Or if you have a ton of money!
IMO 190/30s, compound turbos, head studded and complete bullet proof, ported intake, ported heads, aftermarket air intake, complete fuel system, regulated return, water/meth injection, a fresh hpop (needs to be in good condition), a built tranny etc.. etc.. This would be one mean towing machine
Or you could just do 155/30 and a stage 1 and have almost the same towing abilityrofl:like 60mph uphill instead of 90 mph uphill 🤣)
exactly :thumb:
