I got a 2012 Ford F-250 that has swollen lug nuts on it. I can get them off but my problem lies turing hem back on because I’m not gonna be able to tighten them back down to the right spec. Considering I use this truck for towing it is vital for them not to fall off. So if i go the route to replace them what is my best option? Replace with oem? Don’t really want to do this because i don’t wanna run into the same problems in a few months/years. If i replace them with aftermarket what do you all run considering i can’t find all steel flat washer lug nuts.

Oiling per the manual? never heard of it

When replacing the chrome clad nuts in my toy hauler, I remember seeing some for Ford. They had an adapter for the flat mating surface. For the TH, I got Gorilla stainless steel nuts. The Ford adapter would allow you to use a tapered SS nut.
those look good. do you think they will be durable enough for heavy towing?

Or you can use Gorilla part number 22148N that has the washer built onto the nut for a flat mating surface, all in one piece.

One drop of motor oil at the flat washer nut interface.

This bottle has been in use since 1999. Taken from my closed facility.

Oh, and only use Motorcraft 10w-30, it's on the approved list

I'm really trying to figure out how lugs get swollen.

I think the swelling is the tin cover getting stretched by gorillas using 12 point impacts. There was a failed class action on F150s for this.
This is actually for turbine IGV heim joints but I use it on the lug nuts too. It's not on the approved list and I like to live dangerously.

Gotta use a 6 point socket -- the 12 points damage the "tin" cover over the steel nut

Common failure, especially if an impact is used

I’ve never used anythifn other than a 6 point socket. But you can’t get a 21mm on the lug nut and with a 22mm they get suck. same with sae sockets. From what i have read the swelling comments from moister getting in between the steel lug nut and the aluminum casing. Seem to get worse and worse. But the older trucks use steel lug nuts and not the bs Ford fancy lug nuts. Also i have 2017 lariat wheels on them with their lug nuts. not sure if they are any diffrent of lugs.
