Hidden switch to prevent driving while using remote start?

So I am wanting to install a hidden switch somewhere that would prevent the van from driving, while still allowing me to use remote start.

Basically, I want a warm/cool van when I get off work, but my job is in a rather sketchy area, so I don’t just want it to be idling outside where someone can break in and take off.

If I simply cut and splice a switch into the throttle wire would this be the easiest way to accomplish this goal? Or is there a better route?

On my truck, I noticed that when I hooked up Forscan there was an option for "secure idle". Some people call it police mode. Basically, if the truck is running but the key fob is not inside the truck you cannot shift out of park and drive it. So I enabled that feature.

Just some random thoughts/ideas.
Anyone who really wants your truck is going to get your truck. A professional thief will get it, period.
Now, for all the opportunistic low-level thieves, the key is to just make it not worth their time. They want a quick grab. If your truck is running, to them, that means you are close so they have to move quick. What about one of those steering wheel lock devices that lock the steering wheel to the brake pedal? Cant press the brake or turn the wheel until it is removed. Again, a serious thief would only be mildly inconvenienced, but a smash and grab crackhead could be stopped.

A big dog sleeping on your seat? Create a quick release device to pull off your shift lever? GPS tracker on your truck (and a group of ******* buddies who like to hunt car thieves)?

Cool start RS7-G5 pretty much has this option, if you want to cut the starter wire from the key column the module would still supply power to the starter solenoid but you would never be able to crank it with the key.

no idea of the issues that would cause but if you remote start it and tap the brake w\o the key it shuts off. It's also stupid easy to install... although I paid a place because I didn't want to mess it up. Super good range and 2-way remote, though if it doesn't start on the first try it won't realize it, but you can customize a lot of things including crank time and delay.

My expedition has aftermarket remote start and if you press the brake pedal it turns off the system so it will die unless the key is in the on position.

Would this be as easy to bypass as hot wiring the truck? I’ve read that the trucks are pretty damn easy to Hotwire, and have personally known a few people to have their 6.0’s stolen.

I’m going into this project basically assuming someone would be able to get into the vehicle and start it without the key.

There is a cool opportunity here to design a quick disconnect steering wheel/shifter situation.
Where someone jumps in and sees no wheel or shifter and panics.

The down side is they will break a window or a lock to gain entry...

The other thing is a shutdown when the brake is pressed, this is pretty common on most remote starts so its easy to replicate.

I like the idea of a shutdown with break press. What wire would I need to tap into to make this happen?
