I am hoping I can get some input on this code I keep getting. P1292
So if I start the truck it will idle fine with no issues, hit the fuel and still no issues idles up perfectly fine. Then after putting it in drive I can drive around slowly with no issues as soon as I bring the rpm’s up to about 1600 it will drop down to a limp with no power and throw a P1292 code!
My local dealer is telling me I need to start with changing all 8 injectors(at $800 a piece). I would be fine with getting this done but it just does not make sense to me! How could it idle for a hour with no issues if all 8 injectors are faulty I can can also spike the rpms up to over 3500 in park with no issues.
Also I did a full delete to the truck 2years ago with a mini max tuner, but have had no issues with that.

I would replace injectors 2,3,5 and 8 first if anything. Those are the bank 2 units, and that code indicates a bank 2 issue. I believe (not sure) that they have to have a balance performed after installing. The hold downs should be replaced at the same time.
What you are experiencing is, I believe, bank 2 injectors shutting off as you load up the engine. It may be idling ok on 7 cylinders but when it kills 3 more it runs really rough.
You don't say if you have had any emissions improvements done, but DEF contamination and fuel gelling can take out an injector.
