the new ForScan ELM-USB adapter arrived today, got it up and running.
got a full screen of old codes that I need to clear out.

however, I scanned through all of the Tabs, and options, and no where do I see a Button or Option, to Clear All DTC codes

I went to the ForScan Forum, and did not find any relevant info there either,
either I am a dunce, or since this is the Free Version, that function does not exist?

I can't buy a license for it either, they are having problems with their Payment Processor, so that is out the door until they get it fixed.

I found the answer on YouTube, once all the codes have a check mark / are listed, you go down to the bottom left and there are two DTC buttons there, no labels, you have to mouse over them, and wait for the popup to tell you what it is. the 2nd one to the right is DTC Clear Codes.

Did that, and now the only code remaining is P1000 which means the Self Diagnostic Trip Test has not been Completed following an Emissions Test.

the description goes further to say it take a few drive cycles for the module to "learn" and reset itself.

So, my Excursion is now good to go...

next up, install the Hydra tuner and the Edge CTS w/EGT probe.

The app is written for computer geeks, all of the buttons are labeled with popup text , ...which is normal in that world

You do not need the license unless you are changing parameters on the system -- for testing and code reading it is not used

that's alright, I'm not either and I have been called a "technician" since 1958....
only my avocation was in electronics, started out as a ham radio operator KN5AWO in '57
K5AWO in '59 and Extra Class in '81 and then in '91 my employer declared that Ham Radios are to be banned in their vehicles :(

that soured me, then I discovered computers in '88 so that was the beginning of the end of my operating in the Ham Radio world, after 8 to 12 hours at work fixing Fire Department radios, computers, I just didn't feel like sitting down to a desk and yabbering at the world.... a hot shower and bed were more inviting

Power Service in the white bottle would be good in the cold -- Gray bottle for summer

my local Bumper to Bumper store only has Howe's AntiGel Cleaner, he said to pour in 16oz for the first time, as I have no history on this truck....

Now, I just checked the ATF and I am flabbergasted, this is so clear, that I can't see it, I had to move out into the clear sunlight in order to see a glossy reflection and be able to see the ATF level.

what type of ATF is in this truck?
