Just set these codes today. Of course now my glow plugs are not working. Truck has H&S high sulfur tuning. Put i8n a call to H&S but they were 0 help. Told me to call ford. Anyway anyone else ever see these codes pop up and get it figured out?

FIXED!!!

Ok so the problem was the NOX sensor control module on the passenger frame rail. How you ask does that cause codes for MAF sensor and GPCM? Especially when the truck was deleted. Well it turns out that the GPCM, MAF sensor and NOX module are powered by the same wire. Even though i was deleted that little module shorted out under the truck and caused fuse #36 to blow under the hood. Moral of the story. When deleting unhook and remove that stupid module from under the truck or it will short out causing you to have engine codes and NO glow plugs.

I have auto enginuity and a subscription to motorcraftservice.com. Just went through the pin out and wire diagram and found the problem in about 5 mins last night. Never in my life would i have guessed it was an emissions control problem when i don;t have that stuff anymore. hahaha

I think it's the rear one. Unplug it and replace fuse. Then see if that fixed it. If not then unplug the other one. Pretty sure it's the rear one though.

I wanted to update this thread as I couldn't find an answer anywhere.

I have a 2017 F250 but it is probably the same as the pre-17 models. I ran a single tune in mine with an Ez-Lynk, I didn't get the codes, when I put the switch on the fly tune in I got these codes.

Here's the solution, if you have your NOS sensors unplugged and it's still doing it.

I was on the phone with the tuner for a couple hours trying to figure out the issue, after exhausting just about every option they suggested putting the "back to stock" tune back in, NOT the stock horsepower tune, the tune that would allow you to put all your emission components back on.

Put the back to stock tune back in, start the truck, shut it off and re-install the tune you want. This resets the ECM, sometimes loading the tunes into the computer can go wrong.

Possible cause of issue?

Not sure if anyone has solved this issue yet? I have a 2016 fully deleted Superduty. Using SCT Livewire TS+ with 5 tunes from Tyrant and 4 from No Limit. I am experiencing the same issue. I replaced the fuse and it blew again immediately. I crawled under the truck after reading this post and after putting another fuse in the #36 slot. It blew it again of course.

Here is what I found.
1. Strong burning electronic smell from the sensor controller part# dc3a-5k202-ac under the passenger door on the outside of the frame rail.
2. Burnt terminal inside the terminal housing. This is one you unplug when deleting the DEF/factory exhaust.
3. The female end of the plug faces up into the air like a "cup" to hold water/debris.
4. Lots of salt inside the plug.
5. My remote start no longer works.
6. I have a code U0106 - Lost communication with glow plug module 1.

So my experience in electrical engineering and salt spray automotive testing has taught me salt is highly conductive. I think the power is left on after deleting and is creating a carbon/salt bridge between terminals causing the sensor controller to short and blow the #36 fuse.

I'm calling to get a replacement now, so I can't tell you if swapping it out and sealing off the plug helps until it arrives. Also replacing the fuse of course.

I had a 2011 duramax that I left the plugs hanging uncovered and never had an issue. I know it's a duramax but just piece of mind. Also, within about a year, the salt will eat the prongs right out of the plugs. Learned that the hard way.

I packed my plugs on my 2017 with bearing grease and wrapped them with plastic/Zip ties.

I also would not go replacing plugs, when returning the truck to stock you can simply hard wire the wires together.

Problem Solved!!!

Just wanted to update the thread. Switched out the sensor control module. Everything works fine. Control module was shorted from salt and water. I would love to post attachments to show you but this forums rules are stupid.

Edit: By the way you NEED this sensor. Especially if you have remote start and want to use your glow plugs. You CANNOT just unplug it!

Interesting. So it sounds like there is about a million things that can cause those issue. I’m baffled that this throws off the glow plugs. None of these issues seem to have any relation to them.

@madprepper, were one or both of your electrical connectors plugged into that module (dc3a-5k202-ac)? This problem happened to me about 2-3 weeks ago when it was very cold and i noticed that the module or the female connectors were not taped up anymore, so I am thinking maybe it shorted out. I wouldn't think I would have to replace the module since none of my connectors were plugged into the module, but I wanted to see what your situation was. My glow plug light would still come on the dash however, I couldn't remote start it unless I erased the CEL. Thank you!

Need help =[
Getting the p0106 and p0100 codes. I know all about this topic because two years ago I got these codes, i went online and did my reading and found out that i needed to unplug the nox sensors because of salt water.... at the time for whatever reason i only unplugged the front one and greased it up and sealed in a bag. i also replaced fuse 35 or 36 i forget which. but it was blown and i replaced it. PROBLEM WAS FIXED for about two years up until last week. last week i got the same codes as two years ago. immediately i checked my seal job on the front nox sensor plug and there was some nasty salty water inside the bag. i took it all apart and cleaned up the connector dried it off and greased it up and re sealed it. then i checked my fuse and it was NOT blown to my surprise. after doing some reading i discovered there ws a rear NOX sensor module too. i went down under my truck and disconnected the plug from it and it greased it up and bagged it. checked my fuse again and still not blown.

SOOOO now i have two plugs sealed up good and a working fuse and still check engine lights. i tried clearing them and they come back.

some people on other forms say you need those modules others say you dont.

my truck has no emissions equipment on it so i cant see why i would need those modules. i know the glow plug wire somehow ties into those modules but if they are unplugged and sealed up shouldnt it be okay??? any help from anyone? its very very cold in chicago and i need my glow plugs back!

2015 f350 6.7 deleted

Thanks all!

@joemanhp4 - I had the exact problem you did. I live just north of Detroit and I deleted my truck (2013 F350), forgot to unplug the rear NOX sensor and CEL came on and changed out fuse 36 since it blew. About two years later (in winter), CEL came back on with the same codes you have, eventually went out on its own.

Well this past October/November when it started getting cold again here, it came back on with same code. I untaped every plug sprayed them all with contact cleaner and filled the plugs with dielectric grease and covered each one with the finger tips of rubber gloves and tapped them all back up. I physically removed both of my NoX sensors from my truck and put them in my toolbox. I deleted the code through my H&S Mini Maxx and I have not seen it come back on yet. I also cleaned all my battery terminals especially the battery that the wire from my tuner is connected too. I do not know if it was all coincidental, so far so good (fingers crossed).

Thanks for the input. im beating my head against a wall about this. A gentleman on another form replied to my post and mentioned disconnecting the 3rd connector by the firewall and doing some test drives. this connector is apparently ALL of the emissions plugs. they even sell a cap. ill post the link he gave me for the cap. apparently you can test it without the cap and see if it solves the problem but the cap is suggested.

2015 Deleted GDP tuned. U0074 consistent and sometimes accompanied by u0106. Unplugged emission BUS from PCM, same thing. Get code at start up or during warm up idle. Clear them and don't come back until next key cycle.

Anyone have the pinout or wiring diagram for the Glow Plug Control Module? Also thinking with the GPCM running the Urea Tank Heater something might be going on there.

Did you guys try switching back to the stock tune and re-uploading the tunes to your truck? Worked for me to get rid of these codes.
