Hey yall, I'm hopefully a proud owner of a 7.3 by later today, but quick question for this rookie. The seller says he has a TS 6 position tuner. I test drove and saw the tuner switch but its not labeled, and I'm not really sure how it works...Other than one setting brings my RPMS up high I'm not sure how to use it....

Can anyone explain to me, how to use it? Or how to tell what tunes I actually have? I read all the options of the tuner but how do I know what I have...
Thanks for any advice, trying to learn

ts offers these tunes- Stock, High Idle, Valet, Anti-Theft, 50hp, 75hp, 100hp, 140+ Extreme

so its hard to guess unless you have the sheet that says what was burned on the chip.

You could ask the guy what positions the chip has, good luck with your purchase tho

Agreed ^^^^

Typically you'll have these positions: 1. Stock 2. High idle 3. 50hp 4. 75hp 5. 100hp 6. 140hp.

Valet mode has a speed limiter normally set to 70mph andcanti-theft will be a no start.
Thanks man. I think that'd what it is. Far left is whatever then second high idle. Then 4 more clicks. So probably something like u mentioned. Previous seller had no idea...I'll go back and read up on what benefits for each setting. Thanks for the suggestions. ..oh yeah, I did get the truck :)

Ohhhh ok I'm excited! I'll give you a shout on your email get the scoop on it. Thanks so much for the help!!!:eek:hnoes:

you can send it to hucorey,or PHP or TW,etc, etc any tuner you want to write "custom" tunes to your truck and simply pull the chip out (make sure key is NOT on infact i would set them aside to be safe lol) and email or call whichever tuner you decide to go with, the caned tunes on the TS chip arent very good, custom tunes are the way to go,i have PHP tunes on my TS chip in my 01 and couldnt be happier, good luck!
SO you picked PHP, why would you say you went with this set? I dont know what the paclage is, I'm sure hucorey will give me the scoop. Just curious your thought on what you wanted.

I have wildman tunes on my 95. The basic "HP" label for tunes crack me up. There are a few things that can be modified for a tune, how much fuel and when it kicks in, shift points, and how hard/soft it shifts. Im sure im missing something. But go custom and you wont regret it, there are good ones out there.
Thanks bud. Same for you. What made you pick the wildman tunes, except for the name. Which is intriguing :look:
