I seen a post a while back where someone said that to reset the tcm you do a series of shifts from park neutral reverse and drive. I can't find it can anyone tell me what it is?

I know when you change tunes with the sct programmer is reflashed your ECM and TCM so you need to drive it easy for a few days to let the computer relearn shift patterns and stuff.

what do you mean reset the TCM I wasn't aware of resetting just the transmission computer by itself before?

I know the re learn process for ****ting but I'm talking about re learning when shifting into gear. I had a new transmission installed and when going from park to drive it shifts really hard and I thought I heard of a sequence of shifting to park reverse neutral and drive to help this problem I can't remember where I saw it at

you could unplug the batteries for a night and that would reset the ecm and tcm but you shouldn't have to switch back and fourth between gears for a relearn that's totally incorrect.

if the hard shift doesn't go away after a day or two call the shop and request them to look at/fix. you should not have hard shifts with a brand new trans.

whats the year, model, any any mods? lift, tires etc?

Its a 2008 spartan tuned has a brand new transmission. It's not shifting hard it goes into gear hard. When going from park to drive it will stop in reverse then slam into drive. They are going to be looking at it. He keeps giving a reason not to look at it though cause he dosnt want to work on it anymore. Needless to say he will fix it because I payed him 3k to do it right lol

I actually found it on one of my old post I could find anymore that's where I seen it before. It didn't help. Is this relearn for the shifting while driving or for going into gear? I'm lost i didn't have this problem until the spartan install and around 500 miles on the new transmission

Yep every tune including stock hp tune. But once the truck is started and shifted that one time it shift perfect until you shut the truck off again
