hey guys,
today my 99 7.3 f-250 stalled for no apparant reason. I was coming to a stop, and it just died. my fuel guage read just above the e. It took a few minutes to start, but when it did i drove it 4 miles to a gas station thinking the guage was wrong. the truck ran very rough the entire way. I only put 23 gallons in it which tells me it wasn't empty. I then started the truck and it ran rough for about 1.5 mile and then started running like normal. I have driven twice since then and everything seems to be fine. also the truck only get 15 miles to a gallon is this normal for a 7.3 with 143,000 miles? thanks for any ideas what just happened.

:ditto: Yea, what he said...

In Australia, we have even gotten a CPS go out on a brand new 7.3!!! But judging from the 90 or so Effies we have running, it is a part that should be regarded as disposable maintenance items like fan belts or radiator hoses, and you should carry a spare... Try replacing the CPS like Marc says, and if it does not fix it, you have your spare.. Ha!:burnout

Two cents worth from Oz....
