2016 Superduty with a Rough Country 4.5 lift kit. Rough Country shocks live up to their name!! Trying to decide between Fox 2.0 and Rancho 9000 adjustables. Anybody got any experience with these? Mostly street driven and looking for a decent ride - considering that it it a 3/4 ton truck.
I'm leaning towards Fox since I had a Raptor and liked the way it rode - but probably not a very good comparison!

Just FYI shocks will not make a huge ride improvement. Its the kit that's killing the ride quality. Im not a fan of bilsteins they road rough on 4runners, f250s, and jeeps for me. I have no experience with fox. I have used the following:

Previous rides:
-Rough country 4in lift on 2004 f350 4dr long bed-Ok for economical lift, not the best ride.

-Tough country late 80s bronco-CRAP*also on old friends 2001 dodge 2500 welds broke on control arms multiple times.

-Superlift 8in kit on the 2004 f350 before replacing -Not bad and comfortable and handling towing great. shocks leaked after about 60k miles. only 2 of them though.

-Fabtech 8 or 10in on 2006 f350- Road the best but it was coils on the front and no towing experience.

Current rides:

procomp 2.5in level kit on 1999 f250-Its a f250 diesel with leafs not terrible and the procomp es9000 shocks helps soften the bumps but not as good as the 2005 and up superduties still.

King shocks hands down the better option.
I have fox on one and kings on the other. The Kings are much better. The ride comes from the lift though. Both trucks have Carli suspension.
Also, lower the tire pressure when not towing. It makes a big difference in feedback.

Not the Rancho 9000. My dad and I have them on our Suburbans and while the idea of the adjustable shock is good in theory we have never crawled under and changed the settings, too much of a hassle. The adjusters are not ideally located on the shock. In fact the two dials in on the rear shock on my dads Suburban broke off while off roading.

Agreed on King probably being the best but after doing a full delete a week ago they were not in the budget now. Since I had the Raptor and liked the way it handled and rode, I went with Fox 2.0 all the way around along with the stabilizers. Agree on the quality of the lift kit being a factor, but about the only remaining Rough Country items are blocks & front springs. Took the truck over some of our famous roads in Oklahoma and it is significantly more stable and less bone jarring. Happy with the change from the Fox! Now after the delete, Tyrant Extreme tune and the new handling it's a different truck for sure. Now it's time to leave it alone for a while and enjoy it. Thanks for all the replies!!

OK, so about 400 miles after installing the Fox 2.0 (non-resi as I don't do enough off roading to need the extra cooling) over a mixed type of roads from smooth to rough. Ride quality is fine by me since it's a 3/4 ton truck and much better that the RC originally on it. Steering was good since I also installed the 2.0 stabilizers. No wandering, jumping etc. Overall very happy with them.
