Ok. So i was talking to a rep about a warrantly claim for an injector with Warren Diesel and she advised me not to run the Rotella T6 oil cause its to thin and causes issues with the spool valve in the injectors. So here is my questions. Has anybody else had any dealings with this? I just changed the oil, with that being said is it going to cause any problems to run it for a little while so $100 in oil isn't completely wasted? What are people thoughts. i am going to use Motorcraft 15w-40 going forward. Thanks

The 5W part of 5W40 means that it acts like a 5W in the winter, say at 0*F. Even acting like a 5 weight oil at that temperature, it is thicker than the 40 weight oil at operating temperature (say around 200 *F).
So at operating temperature there is virtually no difference between a 5W40 and a 15W40.
Ignore the advice from the rep.
If Warren is telling all reps to take that position, then I would suspect a problem with their company.

T6 oils are not too thin for the injector spool valves. They are specifically engineered for heavy-duty diesel applications...
5W-40 and 15W-40 are near the same viscosity at 100 degrees C (212 deg F). They are substantially different at cold temperatures (i.e. 0 degrees C). A 5W-40 oil flows much easier at freezing temperatures, making cold starts much easier.

Lots of vooodooo and misinformation with motor oil viscosity and lubricity. After167k miles of continuous use, I'm all in on the Amsoil train.

It's a Warren thing they are the only ones claiming this anomaly issue
probably because a ton of folks run T6 and every time Warren has a Warranty claim for an injector failure they ask what oil was being used

I switched to Delo syn 5-40 since Walmart also sells that and usually had more of it than t6 in stock
see if Warren will bless that brand lol

well, in that case, nevermind my recommendation they want you to run a weight none of the 6.0 crowd runs to avoid stiction
