its not diesel related. just OBS f- series. and in 93 our design started. so this is still relevant

well 93 was there main year for the new style. 92 1/2 had some trucks but its better to use 93 for stuff, because you might not find the right things for a 93 on a 1/2 model

The 92 model year was the cutover for the body style.

 

kinda like the 97 f250? where they had diesel and the crappy 7 lug, and the cali model with 120cc splits like mine, very awkward to find the rite part round here ya know

 

'97 with a 7.3 and 7-lug hubs? Sounds like too many 7's for my liking.
My '97 has 8-lugs, so no worries there. I've actually never seen a PSD with 7-lugs.

Yeah 97 ford made there f150s into the PRE superduty stage as a test for the new format of the f150 and , to get out of the box design they tried out a more curved approach.
then after releasing that to the public they didnt design a truck in the year 1998 (as a advertised year model) YOu would find a 98 truck with the year on the door but they would advertise it as a 97, those were mostly on xl trucks or single cab- chassis.
THen ford released there 99 SUPERDUTY model base there still using to this day!!

the light duty version had 2 engine options, the 4.6L V8 and the 5.4L V8, both had the new modular motor that was optioned to a f150 from 97-03, but the heavy duty version of 97 (obs 8 lug) had the 351W, 444 turbo diesel, and 460. i only like this particular body style tho, hard to find a good one, SD's are a dime a dozen in good condition

 

well back in the 70's the difference between an f-100 and f-150 was 4x4, and a slightly larger towing capacity, they went to all being an f150 so as not to have to pass emissions lol
