Motorcraft Oil Cooler Alternatives?

Those of us that have been around a long time have seen a lot of pain associated with counterfeit oil coolers (and even the original OEM oil coolers). Sure it can be as simple as it just doesn't cool as well as the OEM one, BUT we HAVE seen them rupture and get oil into the coolant (a mess to clean up), AND we have seen gaskets come apart and cause absolute misery in the low AND high pressure oil systems.

This very well may not be counterfeit. Love to see brave souls that venture out and try things - as long as they report back somewhat regularly. If it is a counterfeit - maybe they are making them to be more reliable.

Bottom line - MANY of the past failures have involved more than a simple return and replace. Many times the new crowd of 6.0L owners just do not know the complete story. That said - the past issues are not a guarantee to still be an issue. Simply put - there are few guarantees (good or bad) with the 6.0L.

As long as a person knows what the possible outcome is, then have at it and keep us informed!
