Sct tuner,stock, HELP!

So I have an 06 F350 6.0 Lariat 4 x 4 with a 135k my truck is all stock I recently put an SCT tuner in it. I tried the truck on sport tune and didn't realize the EGR Delete wasn't off when I accelerated and use the turbo then slow down the truck shuttered like you got hit by lightning. First thing I did was Return to stock then shut my truck off hours later went to take it for a drive it stalled at the bottom of the driveway then the turbo wouldn't spool. So I put the tuner back in proformance mode an now it spools but sounds like something broken. My gauges all read normal an no over heating but my degas bottle gets on the min line at times. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Check the electrical connection at the turbo, and check the boots on the cold air charge tubes at the turbo, intercooler, and intake. If you tore a boot, you would lose boost. And the plastic tube on the driver side may have split or cracked. Do you hear any “rushing air” or whistling noise?

If I run the truck stock the turbo don't spool at all it's like I don't even have one you just see the boost on their gauges if I put it in performance mode you hear the turbo spool and everything is normal but it sounds like a grinding noise you can feel it in the gas pedal

The boots are oily which indicates they need to be changed and they're spongy but not torn

Sct tuner,stock, HELP!

Check map hose and ebp

agreed, so many variables

Cold side intercooler pipe (if plastic exploded)
CAC Boots (tear or slipped off)
Intercooler end tank split
Up-pipe cracked
Turbo died (on a coincidence)
MAP Sensor hose
VGT Solenoid issues
EBP Sensor issues.

Videos of the noise help tremendously in this situation.

So I replace the ebp sensor still same, the icp sensor, the vgt reads normal on the sct tuner. The boots are oily an spungey. Cant find ones that fit anywhere tho. But if I go to do a brake stand an hold the truck to see if I hear leaks the transmission cooler make a whopping sound not sure what that could be. I was told if I had a bad one the truck wouldn't run. I don't want to blow the motor if it's something crucial. I kno the turbo isn't blown cuz I still boost. An a blown turbo wouldn't boost at all.

Is it normal for the eot to be 4 degrees from the coolant temp ? An why does my turbo boost at an idle now it was always 0.00 before.

I did the turbine wheel an shaft aren't loose or sloppy everything tight.

Why in God’s name are we using a “inches of mercury” scale on that monitor. Is one of the PID’s set for showing the chance of showers where the truck is?

Only place I see inHz anymore at all is on the negative or suction side of gauges.

BTW it’s a positive running scale measurement in the .05 psi range Regardless somethings not jiving.

I’d take Hydros advice and also rule out the Cat isn’t plugged.

Forscan can actuate the VGT with the engine running ...you can hear the turbo and read the %

Not very user friendly for reading parameters, but very good at reading DTC's

More info on the truck is key to getting good answers(year, engine mods, etc)

"later" factory programming did roll the VGT between 15 and 85%, just to keep the unison ring free.

101 inHg is about 50psi , that seems excessive

Just some thoughts

2006 f350 6.0. Garrett turbo stock everything. But I have an sct tuner x4 an I put the truck in sport tune but forgot to turn off the egr delete. When I accelerated I used boots to get up my buddy's driveway an the truck shuttered like it got struck my lighting then a big bang. An have been running crappy ever since. I put in a new ebp sensor, icp sensor. Not sure what could have happen. Suck but want to fix before I start plowing an b4 snow falls any ideas

Big Bang Theory ..hehe

Have you checked the turbo boots? also the plastic 'hose' on the drivers side likes to split down low at the bellows

Check the inter-cooler tanks for rupture too.

So looking at your pictures how are you getting over 100 inches mercury reading for exhaust back pressure? (ext backpressure) or am I misinterpreting what that sensor meaning?

Seriously stopped up exhaust catalyst, or a buddy playing a joke on you with a stopper in the exhaust pipe?

@G8orFord @ZMANN any thoughts

Not having or having an EGR will not create any problems as you have described. As others have said, without parameter information we are just pissing in the wind.

A lot of times when you hear grinding vibrations it is the down pipe rattling on the frame. This happens for a number of reasons including more engine movement when playing with higher torque. It could be your turbo, but as long as it spins you might not need a rebuild or buy a new one. That being said, the stalling seems to be related to a bad or corrupt tune, even going back to stock, or you broke something. Sometimes you have to reload the stock tune to get it to operate correctly. The low boost could be related to this as well as I have seen this on occasion when swapping out tunes; but that never caused an engine to quit. If your turbo needs a new ring or cleaning it could have a stuck VGT. If the turbo is grinding, look at getting a rebuild, or better yet, upgrade it.

The engine is running backwards.

Per your original post I thing something let go on the turbo air pressure system(hose, inter-cooler) ...did you find the broke part?

I noticed the odd reading on the gauge (inHg >100) ...still would like to know what this is monitoring.

I asked the guys for a second opinion, I think some humor was applied ...we are serious about helping here, but sometimes humor doesn't always come across in text as it does in real life.

You ask "How can I fix this?" I ask...fix whut?the engine running backward? ...put her in retreat and mash the skinny pedal.

Seriously tho ..did you get the original problem fixed? and help me understand the over 100 inHg reading. (ext backpressure)

That 0.83psi boost and 116.25 inHg (exhaust pressure?) screams plugged exhaust pipe (catalytic converter)

Do you have an OBD bluetooth adapter? would use Torque Pro(android) as a double check on those readings

Could also use ForScan and a laptop

inHg is usually for vacuum, but it cant go beyond 30(29.92)

Truck seem to gave plenty of power? (can you roll smoke off the tires?)

Exhaust back pressure sensor could be bad(driver side on a tube near the ex manifold)
