Hey all,

I just put a power steering in line filter on the 7.3 excursion. In the bottom libe at the cooler. Pic attached ( looking up from ground) i put itbin start it up and now the hydroboost whines hums when i hit the brakes or turn the wheel. I lifted the frint end and went lock to lock 40 times. Makes no noise turning in the air. Brakes do though. As soon as i put it down it whines. I emailed diesel site but haven't heard back yet . Is my flow backwards? There was no directions at all with the filter. Im about yo pull it to see if that changes anything.....

I pinched the lines to install, very little fluid loss. I have to run and get a double barb if i just remove it . Really a 5 min job turns into this....

So i put double barb in. Still making noise. Bleed again lock to lock. Reservoir is full but also frothy. What will it hurt making noise?

And under the hood with the wife turning the wheel/ braking, it sounds like the belt area pump area. Butbyou can hear gargling in the cab some too

So where exactly did you install and what direction is it going?

Never ran empty. Just the air from cutting the line and putting the filter on. Res and pump are combined

Yea its on the agenda. I did flush it though in 17. Probably tomorrow or monday....

All i could find was this so thats whyni picked that location. My only question was direction. I think the one in the picture is flowing to the cooler based on googling images of it.

I uses these flush directions when i fluahed it last.

I read just dont install in a line with crimped fittings as they are high pressure. The others are not. Makes sense since some are obviously high pressure.

Dieselsite replied and essentially saidbtje same thing. I put air in the lines, just bleed it.

I flushed the lines and changed fluid. Got alot of air out when we were pumping brakes, but very little out of wheel turning. Put in Schaeffers all trans Supreme. I also put the filter in the line you remove to flush. All is good now. Thanks all
