Hi all, I have a 2005 6.0 that I have owned & maintained since new. At 200K, while on a trip an issue developed. I decided to finally buy a scanner and purchased a INNOVA 5160 RS professional code reader at the near by AutoZone. The scanner did ID the issue and the ICP was replace. I have expand my knowledge of the scanner and I am able to monitor the trans temp, ECT, but unable to monitor the EOT. I contacted INNOVA and was told the scanner would monitor the EOT if the truck supported it, but the truck does not. I find this hard to believe given the importance of the difference between ECT & EOT. Does a 2005 6.0 support live date streaming the EOT or not.? If so, how? I Thank you in advance for any advice.

Forscan on Windows is the most preferred setup with the proper OBDII to USB adapter. With this, you can pull the values that you need (including EOT). The setup costs less than what your INNOVA cost.

Other code readers are not as capable of reading codes or data on a 6.0L from what I've read, but I don't know anything about your particular reader.

Thank you for the replies! I have read on this forum many times about EOT reading and thought it was possible . I will call INNOVA again and question their response. Also, thanks for the suggestions on scanners that I should have purchased. I will research each. Guess I have a INNOVA scanner for sale! Thanks for the help, it is appreciated.

Good luck with that.

I have had an Innova scanner for years. Torque and Forscan do much more, and probably for less money.

Imma go out on a limb here and bet that Forscan and an OBDII dongle cost less than your scanner did too :D

You can get the Forscan Lite App for phone or the full Forscan program for laptop/tablet. What you need to pair it with is an OBDII dongle (BLUETOOTH for android phone/windows based device or WIRELESS for iPhone/iPAD/Mac). Just be aware, if you have an iPAD or Mac that you're going to use, the full Forscan program isn't supported by iOS devices, so you will need to download the Forscan Lite App from your play store or app store and use your iOS. If you have an android phone and a windows based laptop - you can download the full Forscan program and use it without issues. The full program is the best, but the app gets the job done as well...just with a few less testing items.

FORSCAN FULL PROGRAM or App:
Download FORScan

OBDII Dongles:
Android
Amazon.com: for Android Phones ONLY - Wireless Bluetooth Diagnostic OBD2 Scanner Car Code Reader and Scan Tool for All 1996 & Newer Vehicles ELM327 Compatible OBDII : Automotive

iOS
Amazon.com: BAFX Products Wireless WiFi (OBDII) OBD2 Code Reader & Scan Tool/Wireless Check Engine Light Diagnostic Scan Tool for Cars & Trucks/for iOS. iPhone & Android Devices (1) : Automotive

Forscan Full Program for Windows (FREE) OR Forscan Lite App ($6) + OBDII Dongle ($40) = One of the best code readers, monitors, basic functionality testing programs for this platform!
