This is an annoyance more than anything else, but my ignition switch is sticking intermittently. Sometimes it won't stick, sometimes it will stick but return to the run position on it's own, and sometimes it will stick and I have to force it to return to the run position. Anyone else ever have this problem and if so, what fixed it?

I ran it by the Ford place and they were able to make it happen. They said it was the lock cylinder sticking (the part the key actually turns) and not the ignition switch itself. I have an appointment to get it fixed. I'm told it takes more time to actually set the new cylinder to match my key than it does to take the old one out and put the new one back in once it's set. Probably be $50.00 for the part and $900.00 for the labor. :D

Did 2 like that other cars not Ford back when I was turning wrenches for a living. took the lock cylender out wich is easy and lubed it with graphite lube.

Cool! Maybe that's what they'll do to mine. No need to replace it if all it needs is a lube job.

You can buy dry graphite in a tube designed to "shoot" into lock cylinders, I use it in all my locks, especially padlocks and deadbolts. It is "magic" for locks... no need to disassemble or take to the dealer, you need absolutely no mechanical ability to do this.

Cool, thanks. That's what I need...something that takes no mecahnical ability because I sure ain't got any. :D

The truck is in the shop today to get this worked out so we'll see what they find/do. I appreciate the suggestion, though.

Hope they don't just spray it and charge a lot

Sorry, guys, forgot to get back to you on this...in case you were curious as to what they found. They didn't say, but I do know they replaced the cylinder and man it sure is smooth now. I guess that's what matters. Thanks for all your suggestions, though.
