I need help. I have a 03 F250 6.0L. I got home from the store tonight and my turn would not turn off. The key turned and I could take the key out. Finally my husband pulled a fuse and shut the truck off. (After about an hour) And now it won't start the lights will turn on it just won't turn to the turn to the crank part. Any ideas on what's going on thank you.

The key tumbler mechanism is not the actual switch. The switch is a box on the lower column and it's connected to the tumbler by a rod. It's possible that the rod has come loose or that the switch box itself is defective.

I'm not sure of the exact steps on our trucks, never had to do it. It's usually not too bad once you get the trim pieces off though. I wouldn't worry about it until I changed the switch though, since you're already had down that road.

when i bought my truck someone had tried to steal it and the lock cylinder was torn out with a screw driver
I had not even SEEN my truck yet in person just had my son check it out and I had a mobile lock guy come replace and rekey the doors to match the new ignition for 60 bucks :thumb:
so it can't be too bad
