Well guys u have ordered the ported intake manifold, 6.0 manifolds, and custom pipes, all gaskets, oil cooler, o ring for injectors, and waste gate.

Will the ported intake manifold prevent cracked pistons?

It seems cracked pistons are hit and miss. I have yet to hear of anyone cracking a piston after upgrading to either the international pistons or the coated elite or rudy's pistons. As stated above, better airflow and clean fuel will help for sure.

That's what I'm thinking, but think about it, how much work would it be to put new pistons, and the injectors can't upgraded,(3000 is a lot for injectors) so in sticking with my old ones. Any tips on how to keep the injectors from sticking open? I already have a fass fuel pump, and run addtives from the ford house.

These injectors use a crystal as the gate.. they get hit with electricity, they expand, and close.. electricity goes away, they shrink and open... Or, maybe its the other way around.. at any rate, they rely on rail pressure for squirt, unlike the previous injectors which had tiny pumps in them that dramatically increased pressure AT/IN the injector.. they are less likely to fail than the previously used kind, but when they do, it's a lot easier to burn a hole or crack the piston because unregulated high pressure fuel is squirting in the cylinder as opposed to a lower pressure trickle..

Run good fuel.. increase the lubricity of the ultra low sulfur fuel with a good additive.. remove as much air as you can before the hpfp gets a hold of it.. that is about the best you can hope for..

Decrease air flow restrictions.. eliminate back pressure.. don't let the injector turn into a cutting torch..

Thank you, sir..

One more thing about injectors: if you have heavy fuel, as in water in it, and it makes it to the injector, when it hits the tip and the heat of the cylinder, it turns into steam.. which isn't nearly as awesome as saying "it freakin' EXPLODES!!!"... Guess what turns into shrapnel??? Your injector tip.. oops...

I truly believe it is hit and miss. You may be set. It certainly helps your motor and reduces the possibility. Good luck!

I'm certainly not an expert on the subject, but I'd guess head gaskets would give before pistons crack.. which makes a busted head gasket sound like a God send.. that is based on cylinder pressure being the culprit.. if a hung injector is the culprit, you're effed either way.. not enough air into the cylinder to cut into the fuel ratio will cause stupid hot conditions, that burn holes or crack what may already be a bad casting of the piston, or, as what I think the case is: edges on the lip that allow them to localize heating on the face of the piston, which burns through or cracks it all the way across..

I'm with hdfatboy.. it's not a problem, until it is.. you won't know it until it happens..

I know it sounds crazy, but you can only ward off certain things.. a cracked piston ain't one of them.. you could just as easily replace suspected bad cast pistons with bad cast pistons..

It's sorta like me preparing for the zombie apocalypse... I want a 120ga transfer/aux tank for the bed, a Kevlar hardened bed rv, and a PTO for the front and back, along with top entry/turret.. it will be handy in such an event.

The truth of the matter, though, is that a zombie apocalypse likely ain't gonna happen.. what may happen, though, is obamanomics will force this country into revolution and strife.. if so, it's gonna be damn handy I prepared for the herds of zombies, huh?

Point being.. you can't prepare for everything, but you can arm yourself with knowledge and an imagination on what you'd do, just in case.
