On my truck, I noticed that when I hooked up Forscan there was an option for "secure idle". Some people call it police mode. Basically, if the truck is running but the key fob is not inside the truck you cannot shift out of park and drive it. So I enabled that feature.

There is a cool opportunity here to design a quick disconnect steering wheel/shifter situation.
Where someone jumps in and sees no wheel or shifter and panics.

The down side is they will break a window or a lock to gain entry...

The other thing is a shutdown when the brake is pressed, this is pretty common on most remote starts so its easy to replicate.
