Fuel Injector Connector Disconnect Tool

I've bought hundreds of dollars of specialty tools to take my 6.0 apart...I never had to have a special tool to disconnect the electrical connector to the Injectors.

My 6.4 Service Manual tells me I have to have this $300 tool (310-157) to disconnect my injectors. Is this true? Can I do it with a couple of small screwdrivers?

I would just borrow the dang thing form my LFD but my Powerstroke Mechanic that always hooked me up w/ loaner tools got canned. (I hope it wasn't for hooking me up with loaner tools:doh

Thanks for the link but Geez....'It will just pull apart if you pull hard enough" doesn't sound very reassuring. I wonder if it 'snaps' back together again? That's the question.

I prefer to buy the tool and not take the chance.

Sorry but to me when I spend over $65K for a truck I do everything properly.

I use a pocket screwdriver or a small pick.

Essentially, all that special tool does is pry the connector out of the injector.
