Daytime running lights

I have 2015 F-250 super duty. The daytime running lights don't work. I had truck into shop yesterday for the CCV issue and asked them to enable the DRL....they told me my truck apparently didn't have that option...looking through the manual, this isn't listed as an option. Are they blowing smoke up my rear end or have others had this issue? They told me there should be a wire from the lights control module and apparently my truck doesn't have it and they claimed it was an option. My truck is a Lariat and appears to have just about every option available (I believe it was a demo truck).

I have an SCS Flashwire and it mentioned the DRL but I'm not sure where to look for that option...will do some exploration. Had to return to stock tune for the trip to the shop.

Any input?

Good catch, I totally missed that.

He also has a dealer who doesnt want his business so its possible they pushed him out the door.

That said here is a similar convo where the dealer can do it.
Unless you dont have a Lariat and the option isnt there.

The only "running lights" (those that are on whether I want them on or not) I have are the three LED's in my aftermarket grill. I swapped out the amber lamps that came with it for white ones. Much more visible.
After reading your question I ran outside (well, sauntered . . .) and switched my headlight switch to the farthest clockwise position which is called "autolights". I never use this so I was interested in what it does. All it did was turn on every light except my headlights. Hmmm. The explanation in the owner manual is a bit iffy. I didn't see anything where this would set my headlights to "on" whenever I start the truck (which is good, because I don't want to do that). There was something about putting our less headlight power for daytime running but I didn't see any evidence of that. Of course, that may be due to my aftermarket headlights as well. Don't really care.

Since my truck is a 2016 F-350 Lariat and yours is a 2015, I'm not sure if there is all that much difference in almost anything.

Yup. If I can find an LED bar that fits that section below the "OR" I may put one (actually two) in there as well.

That would be slick.

@tapiot is your wife looking for the lights to be on, or the LED bars?

Doesnt change my response earlier, just making sure.
Fortunately, wife is short....will only ride in truck as a last resort...so no issues there...but only married 41 years, still a newlywed...I'm going to try the suggested routine...Ford guys told me it apparently wasn't wired...think truck was a demo and had about every option you could get, manual doesn't claim it as an option...just says put it in drive and go....

The DRL option is available using Forscan. I changed mine from no lights to just the fog lights. So when I have the switch in off or auto and it is daytime, only the fog lights are on. The other option is headlights as DRL.

Actually a good idea. At night these things replace daytime (ha), but I doubt a little adjusting would affect that benefit.

Alright so I’m trying to follow everything back and see why the side mirror marker lights are not working. The blinkers in the mirrors are working just fine. I found the fuse, #40 10a, and replaced it with a new one. No luck. My next step I think will be the try changing the bulbs with OEM or OEM direct replacements. If that doesn’t work, I will keep chasing the rabbit. I am not ready to buy the computer yet. Hoping I can get this solved without. Thanks everyone.

At this point, its only cheaper if your time is free.

You could have access to all the things you want to change by now.
I totally agree. I changed two fuses which didn’t take long at all, we’ll see if it worked tonight. Bulbs I don’t think will be any time at all either. After that, ForScan for sure.

And if I spend too much money on this truck, my wife might bury me alive lol
