pretty sure the rear hubs are different, but interchangeable. Leafs are fine. tires should be ok as well. Of course wheels. and as for the dually flares i believe they are just an addition or at least can be used as such. Ive only ever seen them off an OBS and they were just kinda big flares

 

Jarrod good idea "Bumper ed" the bumper might be different. Thanks Kanuck I will just have to find a dually 02 and snoop around it a bit. Sitting here I can't picture the flares but am sure I could find a take off bed in the 2002 Arizona tan with all the flatbeds sold here. I thought there was a Jersey guy on the org that did this but looked through 103 pages and nothing.

 

it cant be difficult. worst case you might be into an entire axle? but i highly doubt that. no the bumpers arent different. only body mod will be the fender tubs.

 

yep. body is the same besides rear fenders.

 

The rear axle in my 01 f350 dually is a Dana 80 while the SRW axle is a sterling 10.5 so I would think at a minimum you would need to swap the axle, since my truck is only 2wd I cant comment on different the front setup is tho

 

I have done this on my truck it is very easy everthing bolts up:thumb:. You will need to get a dually rear though it is completly different than the SRW you will also have to check gears as your truck is 4wd. The fenders will bolt right up to your bed with some drilling. the hardest part was the fuel fill when I get home I will see if I can find the part # they were kind of expensivethrough ford I think next time I will fab up what I need. But i can go into any parts store with out a problem. The front is just a matter of bolting on the spacers from a 4wd dually. If you have any other questions let me know :icon_ford:

 

That is great info, Thank you. Can I use my springs and extra spring packs I currently have and just replace housing? I have a second fuel tank in my bed which is gravity feed to my stock tank. I usually just fill the bed tank and never open the stock fill so this will be a small hump on my end.:thumb:

There are a couple ways to go about it. One would be an axle/spring swap.

There are also adapter kits on the market that allow you to use your factory axle

I can get my hands on a dually axle off an 08 if your interested

 

I have acess to a really nice dually bed, no rust or dents it does have a small hole for a gooseneck and it also comes with a bumper. Let me no if any of you guys are interested. It's in Ogden Utah.

Is your truck a long bed or short bed you only have a problem when doing a short bed truck. The springs are the same you will have to get new U-bolts due to the axel diameter. If you are just looking to put duallys on the truck just google dually adapters and several companys will come up

 

You could just sell the truck you have now and buy a dually...? haha, I know I know, its all about the experience though. And MAYBE a little cheaper.

 

when I sold my 97 dually it had a lower resale value then a non dually of the same quality. you could sell your non dually and buy a dually and actually put some coin in your pocket if you buy the same year/quality of vehicle as the one you have.

 

It's too bad we don't live closer. I've been thinking about converting my dually to SRW.
