Your symptoms might be from the ICP sensor or wiring. You might try running it / the ICP disconnected to see what it does.

Pulling codes might point to something.

 

If I disconnect it and the connector has oil in it that should mean a leaking ICP right?

 

Yes. The sensor and the connector should be replaced if you see much oil (I would recommend replacing it even if you see a little oil).

Intermittent Battery Light

2003 F350 6.0 2WD. Just bought the truck on Sunday and the light was on. Owner said one battery was needing replaced. Drove it home, the light would go out and come back on..doing this on and off. Tues the truck started revving and jumping at red lights, thought maybe it was ICP. Bought 2 brand...

No that issue is gone. Both just happened at the same time. The Alternator was trash, replaced it

 

Just removed heat shield and disconnected ICP connector. 1 there wasn’t any heat lume around the connector like there should be, so seems to me the ICP has been replaced before. Maybe the connector/wires are friend because of this? Anyways going to let the truck warm up and test drive to see if I get the revving/surging issue.

 

Don't lose that white plastic insert that goes over the connector end. It helps keep the connector fitting solidly in the sensor. The way I understand it is that your original connector when new did not have that insert, so I would agree that it has probably been changed out.

 

Dielectric grease and dirt ...no problem here /sarcasm

Electric cleaner and wash all that out -- fresh dielectric -- and keep it clean -- DONT use brake clean

 

Not having the heat cover on the wire, issue or not?
