Calibrated Power tunes?

Hello. This is my first post. I know a thing or two about cars and trucks. I've been an auto damage estimator/appraiser, mostly for body shops, for 11 years. I loved car and trucks since I was a little kid. I did lots work on my own cars before they got newer and I didn't have the tools. I've owned over 50 cars and trucks since I was 16 and I'm 39 now (lots of fast ones). I'm not a mechanic but I know my stuff... Now down to business.
I have been researching tuning for my 17 6.7 SD. I'm not interested in deleting for the forseeable future. I have considered everything from peddle commanders to EZ Lynk. I have learned that GDP is probably better for these trucks then PPEI. But I have not found many reviews for Calibrated Power. I like what they have to say. I just want some reviews from customers. Because everyone is the best thing ever... just ask them. Any opinions out there (preferably based on experience)?

I found my self in a similar situation recently after purchasing a new 2018 lariat. I placed an order with Calibrated Power a few days ago. And right away there customer service was the best experience I’ve had in this industry. I’m excited to see what they have to offer.

Cool man. Who did you order from? Direct from Calibrated?

I ran there tunes when they first came out it ran good but regened to much i checked my mg/l per mile with forscan. I also had a lot of fuel dilution in my oil. I also ran 5*, innovative and dp-tuner. Dp-tuner by far runs the best and regens very little i run the 100 hp tune

So far CPT have been ok and I’m gonna stick with them for now.
On my 2012 I could never find proper tuning and I had went through 4 diff tuners.
I think these programmers should offer a warranty of some sorts. I feel as if we perform their R&D and Q&C🏻

I got them now in my 19. Terrible customer service but the tunes are improving

I fought with them for a month because the truck would jerk and wouldn't downshift. Of course their shop truck doesn't have the issue and they haven't had any other complaints, yet they release an update fixing the issue the other day :)

I had moved back to stock tuning after 5k miles an 1 half *** revision. I seen the revision they sent the other day and gave it a go. At first it was spot on and after a few days I started noticing a very small hard shift (no load). I drive 200miles a day pulling a trailer through the hills and the tuning is an overall improvement. What bothers me about these guys is there shop truck is a f450 with difference in gear ratios from my 250. It makes me wonder how they get **** dialed in.

Dp doesn't do EZ though.. I have read about issues with them as well. I have CP. Tunes are great. Shifting can be a little punchy at times. I had issues in the beginning with a check engine light. It was my SOTF switch. They ended up sending me a new one but it took a few calls and some patience. Their customer service needs work.

Update: Seems to have fixed the issue for the most part, but have only put a could hundred KM on it.

I’m tempted to run the 19 tunes in my 18 made in September. Wonder if it’ll be better ?
I’m still having issues with shifting 3-4 an sometimes going up grade into 5th it’ll start hesitate or like jumping in the throttle

Mine works pretty fine now.

My most recent problem: I'm running 37s and the torque converter doesn't grab during acceleration at higher speeds, have to accelerate extremely slow to get it to go. They say no current solution but will look into it.

I just noticed a new updated had been issued in the last couple days, I just uploaded it. They say I will need to turn traction control and stabilitrac off when driving "aggressive" to keep the torque converter from unlocking. I explained its not aggressive driving, it's just any acceleration at all.

Ever get it fixed? These are calibrated power tunes you are having issues with?

I guess I have been fortunate, great experience with their customer service team. I bought their full tune support pack about a week before they kicked out their most recent version of transmission tuning. When I first installed the tuning, I definitely noticed the aggressive 3 -> 4 shift. But this new version has smoothed that out, and added second gear torque converter lock-up, hence the "turn off Traction Control" warning. The 3 -> 4 shift is till the most firm , but it matches better with the rest of shifts firmness. I am running around in their hot tune, which is plenty of fun! Optimized stock is exactly how you wish it would drive from the factory. If you are looking for a refined rig with Tranny tuning, that's the combo right there. EZ-Lynk has been an awesome tuning platform, I am a fan of the cloud connection aspect. I thought that having to use my cell-phone as a gauge device would be a pain, but it really has been fine; I put it on a holder anyway. I know there will never be a unanimous love for any given tuning company an their product, but I have nothing but great things to say about what I am running on my truck.

They sent me the same package with the new transmission tuning to .. I put in a call just for some input on the tranny tune cause they sent 2 different tunes 1 has 355 gearing . Months back I bought the 5 tunes for a 2019 6.7 with 4:10 gear set up stock tires ! Called / left message with them Monday and no response back from them yet .. I have put around 7k miles with there tunes the converter lock up (4th gear) in heavy tow tune is something serious wile towing .. like ripping the driveshaft out ...I have noticed with my truck it takes about 800 to 1000 miles for the transmission to learn (leaving in the same tune of course) . If you turn the switch to different tune it’s relearn all over again ... I do love the power , it’s day and night difference in power .. Also I am running the edge cts2 for gages and I think it’s messing with the tunes

I have run them for about 5 months now. Had a faulty switch to start. Took forever with customer service. Very bad on that front but they sent me a new switch. Some funky tranny stuff here and there but nothing serious until now. On the highway I stepped on it and my motor went to almost redline and the my tranny SLAMMED into gear. Not happy about that. Ill be calling 1000 times tomorrow until I get some answers. 😡

Follow up... I talked to a guy there. He suggested the tranny tow tune that locks up in second. Feels like a different truck since. I am really happy with it. Haven't towed with it yet though...
BTW is it true that the tranny has to "re-learn" for 1000 miles every time I change SOTF settings???

Been running them on my 17 and our 18 here at work and been very impressed both empty driving and towing. Ive had the typical TC lockup issue here and there but nothing major . I dont put alot of miles on my truck so its hard to tell if my regen cycles have changed much

We sell a ton of these packages and i rarely get any complaints

Hi Guys,

I apologize for any of the issues you guys may of had in the past. I hope that being apart of this forum we can be more involved in the community and further develop products and help with support. If you are still having any issues please call and get a hold of one of my customer service reps or shoot me a message from the EZlynk app directly.

Working with our customers we realized with all the gearing options + tire size changes these trucks all reacted to one cal a little bit different. I've worked to develop 3 different transmission file options for your trucks specifically. One is specific for a 3.31/3.55 gears with 35" or bigger tires. While ezlynk only lets you cal the speedo for up to 34.5" tires, this will still be the appropriate trans cal for trucks with these gearing and mods. This is the cal I daily drive my 19 F-250 with 3.55s and 35s on. We also have a Econo minded file for 350s and 450s for gearing like our f450 shop truck that we use to pull trucks across the country to events & shows. And finally if your looking for something more aggressive we have a 2nd gear lock pressure+ file if your looking for something a little bit more aggressive.

A couple other things to point out-
-A transmission relearn should take approximately 100 miles. We recommend doing this unloaded and under normal driving conditions. Typically 4-5 times up through all the gears and back down is enough.
-Time between regens should be a the same if not better than stock. If you are regening frequently please give us a call. We want to make sure there is no issues with the truck, often times this is a cal ID issue pulling into EZlynk on a C&C truck gets selected as a regular or vice versa.
-We are always looking for ways to better our cals, if there is an update, chances our we found something we wanted to make better.

-Tim

Glad to see some representation on here! I know the intact compound set-up for the Cummins has been out for some time, are you planning on anything similar for the Powerstroke? Would love to see that, as that is the route I want to go, intact performance. I know I am only one, but there have to be just as many customers in the Powerstroke camp as the Cummins looking for this kind power production while remaining intact.

I am looking at different tuning options for my 2016 DRW tow rig with 3.73 gears. I have read deleting will disengage the exhaust brake, and that is not an option for me. I am seriously considering the calibrated power tune but am worried about the tranny trouble others are reporting, especially towing 22K.
