I’ve seen the discussion on here before, but most were outdated. Mainly looking for an updated answer. I’ve been looking at putting CAT ELC coolant in my truck, but I really just wanna know what the best coolant is I can put in my truck. Thanks.

I am considering the same issue, as not to long ago the guy who did an otherwise great job on studs and head gaskets on my truck put in the Zerex G05.

From what I have read here over a few years, CAT ELC-1 rated coolant is the way to. It's what I'll be using soon when I drain and flush my cooling system.

When I changed mine I used cat elc from the recommendations of this forum.

Cat or Rotella ELC is the way to roll, however, the switch might accelerate the break up of some of the casting or metal flakes that seem to have plagued many 6.0 owners so be prepared. This is merely speculation and not proven fact, but this idea has been spoken before, and it seemed once I switched, I think I’ve done 5-10 flushes. I’m finally at a good place with my cooling system with no bypass filter and no flushing for a long while now.
