Backup Camera and Collision Sensors

I just bought a 13 250 XL and noticed a backup camera and what I believe to be the bumper sensors all bundled up and zip tied behind the rear bumper, so it has me asking a few questions, why are they not where they are supposed to be, and why isn't the truck yelling at me about the sensors sensing a collision? Also the camera doesn't come on.

There is an aftermarket head unit that's in the dash. Would that matter for the sensors?

Where should I start to get these all working and back where they go? I've never owned a vehicle that had them so this is all new to me.

Here's a short clip of what I'm talking about in case. Not making sense.

Hello SnglSrvngFrnd and welcome to the forum from N.E. Indiana!!! Looks like someone did some messing around back there for sure! I'm not sure if the Ford camera and sensors would work with an after market head unit. Mainly because of stock Ford connections. Good luck.

If its an XL it didn't come with a backup camera. That is an aftermarket camera, they are about $50 and work with aftermarket head units. The hole you drill for an aftermarket backup camera is almost or identical to the hole that the spare tire rod goes into. They probably had it placed in that hole. I drilled a hole on the opposite side of the spare tire hole to mount my camera so you can't tell it was never supposed to be there.

The reason why the trucks not going crazy is because you can turn the audible beeps off in the driver's console. Sometimes they annoy the hell out of me, and sometimes they're fantastic when in a tight parking lot. They are only for reverse. I believe when you put the truck into reverse a message will come up to turn them on or off.
