4R100 severe duty....12,000miles. I wouldn't know what to do if they drove them nicely.....LOL

 

i go every 30k miles. this transmission has slightly over 100k on it. below 110k. i don't do too much towing, but will if need be, and have.

 

It depends on what year of truck you have. If it a 03 and up with the 6.0, you have a 5R110. That trans requires Mercon SP which is good for severe duty to about 60,000 miles. The older 4R100 transmissions only require merc/dex and should be changed every 15,000 to 25,000 miles. The same goes for the E4OD trans in the OBS trucks.

i got some trans questions and what better place to ask then right here right now?

I got a '00 7.3 PS and my 3rd tranny is slipping a little more of a chattering i guess what do i do ive heard go with a 6spd and ive heard go with allison internals and i've heard go with stock fuller and others say sell the ****er what do you all suggest? i need some answers maybe im just paranoid idk please get back to me and have a little sympathy dont just tear me down lol

 

I go 30k and change filter and drain tc.

 

Actually if you are changing at 15K you are tossing perfectly good fluid. Severe duty is 25K normal is 30K-35K, of course if you burn the fluid at any mileage it needs to be replaced. Only use Mercon/Dexron III in a stock 4R100.
