I'm looking to get some AMP Research running boards soon. I live in Oklahoma where we tend to get more ice than snow (about 4-8" per year). I'm currently debating the standard Powerstep vs Powerstep Xtreme (NOT XL). The Xtreme model comes with 4 motors compared to the standard 2 and has a 2-3" wider step from what I understand. Both kits come with a 5 YR-60,000 Mile Warranty. I know the snow won't be an issue whether in state or on a trip. But for an extra $350 does anyone see a benefit of the Xtreme 4 motor system lasting longer? These steps aren't cheap and I'd like them to last as long as possible. Any personal experience and/or opinions are welcomed, thanks!

I was thinking the 2nd motor would half the work compared to the standard system. Potentially increasing the life span of the motors. Maybe not though, just my thoughts.

I bought the standard powerstep, until I saw someone the day mine came in say when his got a little dirty or it was cold they weren't always going up and down completely. He was right. I'm sending mine back, and buying the Extremes after seeing that. Btw, it's not the first set I have seen with a problem

Had factory boards on my last truck and installed a pair of Amp Res. on a previous truck. In heavy snow they sometimes got hung up but that was to be expected given the conditions. Otherwise they always worked. As they get older, lubing becomes necessary more often. Never any repairs needed.
Have not seen the Extremes so no opinion there.
