Hi, i have a 2000 7.3. I went out the other day to start it to jump my other vehicle and it acted like it had a dead battery. I heard thumping noises from under the dash and a relay or two clicking in the fuse box inside the cab and one in the fuse box under the hood. The battery on the passenger side did have corrosion but i cleaned it off. I got my dads truck to try and jump my truck (2022 ram 2500) i tried turning it over a couple times it tried to crank but not enough. I took the key out to let it charge some and the truck was trying to turnover by its self with no key in the ignition!! I replaced the starter and starter solenoid about 6 months ago. I saw on a discussion page to check the terminal split box or something but can’t seem to find it anywhere..I started the truck two weeks ago no issues at all. If anyone has had this problem, please help😂😂
-Thanks

There are many threads on this, sounds to me like you have a windshield leak.

Has it been raining?

That would be me! When the windshield leaks, it goes through a "funnel" created by the main fuse box grommet. This drips it directly onto the ventilation slots in the back of the GEM under which sits all the connector pins - so everything controlled by the GEM stands a chance of shorting to the pins around it. From the there, the water flows into the bottom left of the fuse box which acts as a cup to allow the water to rise about halfway up the fusebox. When I removed mine, it looked like it was recovered from the Titanic.

Replacement parts are about $100 each on Ebay. I managed to find a GEM manufactured on the exact same day as my fried one! Just search the part number shown on the side. Also, OEM replacement windshields are the same price as aftermarket (around me) so don't let them give you a crap one!
