6.0 Wanting to make 1,000 ft-lbs -- Suggestions?

I am currently running all of the typical mods...intake/exhaust/tuner and now I have recently added a 100hp shot of nitrous. The go-go juice really improves the off-the-line power (takes no time at all to spool) and it helps a decent amount in the 1/4 mile (I probably went from the high 14s to the low 14s/high 13s with the nitrous).

My guess is that I'm probably sitting around 400-425hp and 700-750 ft-lbs torque at the tires. BUT...I want to be in the 1,000 ft-lbs range. I know that more fuel + more boost + more nitrous will accomplish this...but how do I go about this? Also, what do I need to look into as far being able to run this kind of power without something slinging/busting/blowing/grinding/locking...etc?

I assume I can replace injectors for the fuel, but will I need a turbo upgrade? And, what type of tuner will I need? I have looked into SCT and I understand you can customize just about anything to do with the PCM - so my guess is that I can control the turbo to where it won't stop at 30lbs...but I have no clue. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

do you have head studs?

Seriously man you are going to need them, if you don't already .....anyway, from what I've heard and read, get that Bully Dog off of there and get yourself a SCT with a Looney Tune and /orElite diesel has a program from the guy who laid some dyno numbers well over 1000ftlb in is 6.0 F350....thats a start. Something tells me bigger turbo and WHEN you do headstuds, get the heads reworked for more air flow and exhaust, remember forcing more air in and gettin it out faster always helps, but remember your are still limited by how much is let in by the valves, I'd look into that and you should see those numbers no problem....:thumb:

With just a SCT you would be around 440/800 or so without the squeeze, from anyone of the vendors. Run that and the squeeze would put you deep into the 500's, and somewhere around 900 or more. You would just about be there. I would definately get those studs though, I'm running the Sct Xtreme tune, and no squeeze, and I put studs on, but that's just me. LOL I'm liking the thought of another 100 whp on tap though, man that would be addiciting.

I guess I could be selling myself short. There hasn't been a Duramax/Dodge out there that has beaten me when I spray it - at least none with standard mods on them. I haven't taken any races with anything past a tuner and airflow improvements though. I DO know that I can hang with C5 Corvettes...beat one off the line a couple weeks ago (spraying of course) and held with him all the way to about 80mph before he pulled on me.

So, could I do SCT and run more fuel/nitrous and see above 1,000? Even more important...would the rest of the drive train hold it? I know I need a new Torque Convertor - are there any particular ones to look at?

Thanks for everyone's posts...I really appreciate it.

upgraded your turbo (65mm compressor) also a bit larger turbine, ceramic coat and dry film lubricant on the exhaust side.

egr delete kit.

bigger injectors (180mm w/38 liter nozzle)

fuel x-over system and FASS

SCT program to properly control everything.

YOU WILL MAKE MORE THAN 1000 FTLBS AT THE RW. I GUARANTEE IT.
i have more mods than the ones listed, but these would get you there.

I Would not spend my hard earned on ATS. but that's just me. i got my converter from D/P products in california. it is a 3 disc with lower stall speed than stock. it came with a stiffer spring to bump up line pressure in tranny. my tranny internals have also been upgraded.

For 1000rwtq, you would need head studs, injectors, fuel system, and a heavy shot of n20 or a larger turbo and some n20. We've tuned quite a few trucks that have hit ~1000rwtq so it's definitely a proven combo. I'd plan on some trans and converter upgrade with that kind of power. It will take it for a while, but plan on the upgrade in the future.

I haven't been to a track yet. A friend of mine has a 2004 with Bully Dog and it is a factory freak...he has no nitrous and I only pull one truck length on him when we go 1/4 mile (his front bumper is about even with my rear). He has run his at a track before and he was in the low 14s (I think it was 14.2 - but I'm not positive). So, I assume that I am in the high 13s with the nitrous...but again, that is all that I have to go by.

Just get a good tune setup for the gas and you can easily tune very close to what your wanting. I've got Looney and exhaust and the gas and run 12.5's at 107mph. No studs and the rest is bone stock.

if you are going to have your motor out for the studs, that would be a good time to do the uppipes/manifolds if you want to ceramic coat them, or at least instal the sneaky pipe for the egr delete, also would be a good time to do the crossover fuel return kit if you havent already done that.
