A true tech doing his Job properly and thourghly diagnosing the problem whatever it may be catastrophic or not Will find with out to much trying that it's been tuned. The tech Will want to be able to answer the owners quesiton as to what and why whatever failed. Anyone that puts the money into their truck to keep it running Will ask the tech. Everytime. The tech is Going to see the freezeframe data and almost Guess correctly a real tech wants to keep his cuatomers happy so when SHTF and problems arise that the customer comes back to them it's better to speak to the tech than the advisor that has no clue and advisor blow smoke to upsale. True techs áre generally honest and care

I am not 100% sure on the Fords but I can tell you that the RAMs were easy to spot when someone deleted and tuned a truck. Every time something was plugged into the OBD II port it was logged in the computer and could be pulled up. Each dealership's diagnostic computer was linked to FCA headquarters and when the dealership contacted FCA about any warranty issue with the vehicle corporate had the history right there in front of them on their computer monitor.
My brother in-law owned a Chrysler, Dodge, RAM dealership and explained it to me. Where he was located they did not have emissions so a lot of the people would delete their trucks. My brother in-law always warned against doing it and said it wouldn't be him denying and voiding their warranty but FCA would in a heartbeat.

Like was said in an earlier post about how Manufacturers are on to people's shenanigan's with pumping big power and then blowing the motor or transmission and then running back to the dealer saying they were only driving it on Sundays and never raced it.

That is false at least for ford the technician is the deciding factor on whats warranty or not. I can choose to ignore the dpf delte and treat it as a normal repair its all about the story written by the tech and submitted for warranty aproval

There's got to be a way you can reflash the stock ecm to basically clear a history. Just spit ballin
Nope all we do is look at the mode 6 data and check for ignition key cycles this number is only reset when a software update has been performed if the count is low or abnormal, we check history if any ford dealer did a update we can see when if not its due to aftermarket warranty voiding software.

I’m on my phone so maybe not seeing someting but what’s the point of the post? OP you are a tech and telling us what to expect? Maybe after a few wiskeys? So what’s the bottom line you saying warrenty or no Warrenty?
I’ve always done whatever the F#*¥ I wanted to any truck I owned and lived in 12 states while doing 22 years of active duty to protect others rights to do the same. Wouldn’t ever let used exhaust be put in a motor I owned. Deleted my last two trucks right off the delivery truck. Never had issues in any state or any circumstance. Few times I needed to go to dealer i just asked them. They always been cool
Or pointed me to a dealer that was. Of course if some kid melts pistons with a bully dog tuner, nobody expects ford to cover it. Common sense. Guess these are just observations on the subject since I don’t really know what we are talking about. I love lamp.
