2017+ mirrors?

What mirrors is everyone running, oem, syppo, something else? I’m seeing them becoming available for 99+ and would love to get rid of my 07 mirrors. I’m ok with manual telescoping and fold, but need the defrost, adjust, lights, etc. Just want a good quality mirror that doesn’t bounce around and fits as close to factory as possible.

Thanks

Bump because I'm interested in this as well.

My biggest concern is the Heated portion. I'm used to hitting the button to turn that feature on with my 6.4. Then I found out that 6.0s have the heater on all the time... Even my little nephew touched my mirror the other day and told me it was hot.

Were the 6.0 "mirror heaters" specially designed to run the entire time the truck is on without burning-out? If so, would having 2017+ mirrors burn-out prematurely because they were on all the time?

So confused. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!

In my experience, they are good quality and only slightly more vibration than OEM. The increased visibility and better looks (IMO) is worth it.

My Syppo ‘17 mirrors are decent, but vibrate at idle. And the convex mirror only adjust in or out sideways. No adjustment for up or down like my factory 2011 has. I like the total adjustability of the fish eye on my 2011 F450. Maybe the ‘08+ mirrors have that in aftermarket.

Boost Auto has made great tow mirrors for the Duramax guys for years. They just came out with new style mirrors for the Powerstrokes. They are not power fold but they are high quality if they’re from boost.

I recently read an extremely detailed very well written with heavy pictures thread about 08 style mirrors from 1a auto parts that had the part number posted ( unfortunately i have read so many posts lately that my poor head has info overload and i can't remember who the author was. It was an older thread because 1a auto must have changed the part number because i scrolled through the website until my finger threatened to fall off. no mater how i tried to search that part number did not come up. has anyone purchased these recently and have a good part number ? i would like the heated top and bottom with turn and running lights , manual fold and telescoping are fine. The Boost ones listed above are nice but the $100.00 jump from turn to turn and running lights seem a bit high to me. yes i know you get what you pay for.lol

You can get them on ebay and Amazon. They are made in China like everything else but honestly, they are great IMO. I have them on 2 of my trucks now and they are way better than stock mirrors. Get on ebay or Amazon see who has the cheapest price at the moment and order them. Just search for Ford superduty tow mirrors. I've had no issues with mine so far as power mirrors and lights work fine.

You do have to modify them a bit there is a plastic mold tab that you will likely need to trim but I just snipped it out with a set of side cutters. Also, the 1st set fit my 05 once I cut that mold part off but I just put a set on my 07 and the bolts they were using were slightly large for one hole. I had to unscrew the bolt and use my grinder to turn down the part of the bolt as bit (it's just the part that looks like a washer but is welding to the bolt as a backing plat. Not a big deal and you could also just drill the hill in the door a bit bigger but I didn't have a bit that big so was easier just to grid the tab down a bit. Can't see any of it once the mirror is mounted.

They work great and I'd never drive one of these trucks again without these mirrors they let you see SOOOO much better than the stock ones.

I bought some power fold 08+ Trail Ridge mirrors about 3 months ago or so. I can’t find the confirmation email from 1a auto, but I will look again. I emailed a complaint almost immediately, because the passenger side only folds when it wants to. But otherwise I absolutely love them. No shaking like the Syppos I had

Edit: TRMRP00020 is the mirrors I got

All you have to do is cut that tab I marked with some snips then if you look at the mounting bolts the round ring at the base was 2 big around to fit in one of my holes so that's what I had to grind down a bit. If you have a big enough drill bit you can just open the hole in the door but was easier to unscrew the bolt and grid it a bit for me.

The ones in this picture are small ones so they'll fit but the newest set I bought had slightly bigger rigs around the bolt and they were a tad too big. You'll understand when you see them.

The new mirrors I bought didn’t have the extra tab this time. Went right in.

With the syppos there was lots of vibration. The Trail Ridge are darn near as solid as stockers. Very good quality without palsy.
