Greetings everyone, Wimpy here with a questions for the brain trust...

BACKGROUND:
I have a 2015 F350 with 228K miles, used for some serious towing but appears to have been professionally maintained (no repair history either). #4 fuel injector just went TANGO-UNIFORM out of the blue (confirmed by Stelarship). No idea what (if any) additives were used, but I have ran Archoil 6200 since I got it 3k miles ago.

The question I would like to pose is... does it make sense for this year/ these miles to go ahead and just replace all of the injectors at this point to ensure long term reliability, or play whack-a-mole as they come up?

I am unsure what the ramifications are running this motor with a dead hole for xx miles, for example if I'm towing in BFE and another injector goes T/U, do I need to immediately shut down or limp 50 miles into the next town, or 300 to get home.... and so on.

Furthermore, I do not have any reliability or performance data to draw on that could help predict when the other 7 injectors may start failing, since I have literally seen everything from 100K to over 900k miles between failure.

My search for a similar topic did not find anything conclusive, but I am a noob on this forum so please forgive me if this is a repeat question.

Thanks again everyone, always appreciate your input and advice!

If you have the extra change $, replace them all and you shouldn't run into any issues. If money's tight do what you have to in order to keep her on the road. You could try looking at the balance test data and see if you have any cylinders that are far outside the range. That should atleast give you an idea if the PCM is reading and attempting to compensate.

My thoughts:
A) What all needs to come off to get to the single injector??
B) The more stuff that needs to come off to get to ANY side, the greater the plan becomes to replace them all.

As long as this is done outside of warranty work you should have 2yrs/Unlimited miles warranty on the parts and labor......something to triple check....cause if the problems start with the others, you got it covered.

Now don't expect to save any money...I'd bet the "good" injectors are used towards a core deposit. It's not going to be cheap.

Thank you gents! I'm honestly not worried about spending the money, I just want to avoid wasting it is all.

Very good point about balance tests, I will check with the Stealer to see what they've done and how it looks. Yes, I hope they warranty their work too! #4 is a PITA to get to and I believe the injectors need to be calibrated/ programmed so I don't want to deal with it myself as I will likely just screw it up haha

Thanks again everyone.

Hahahaa I know that feeling. Well, I wasn't able to get the data I was looking for, way too much variability. The biggest variable was the quality of fuel and/ or additives used that help preserve injector health.
So, I decided to do just the bad injector this time around but if I loose another, then I'm doing them all.
I've asked the Stealership to hang on to the bad injector and look for signs of metal flakes which would indicate pending Bosch pump grenade (if it even has one).
From my ownership forward, it will get the prescribed amount of Archoil AR6200 in every tank, just like my 6.0h-no gets.
Thanks again everyone, will update thread if anything else happens.
