2008 6.4 Transmission cooler lines leaking/replacement (do I need to lift engine 1.5"?)

Has anyone on here replaced these lines?

The 2 lines on the lower left side of the front of the engine have a slow drip. Further inspection shows they are very rusted so I ordered the parts and the special tool to disconnect and I also found the Ford instructions to do the job.

Instructions say that I need to lift the engine 1.5 inches - is this a convenience thing or will I be able to snake the new lines in without lifting the engine. Lifting the engine requires additional tools that I do not have.

Thanks!

For future DIYers.

I tore in to it tonight after learning there is both a middle and front section to the same part number. And ordering the ‘special’ tool allegedly required for the job which consisted of what appears to be a small piece of plastic to release the compression/crimp fittings. Had the plastic overnighted and it was a waste. Trans lines had swelled with corrosion (hence the leak) and the plastic tool was useless.

I did not raise engine but I might have to. Had to cut old lines to get them out and the line harness is secured to the frame in a fantastically located one click spot that I can barely reach. Full mechanics tools might help but dear god that sucked. Cuts were made so no turning back now. Old lines are out and the new line install fun begins tomorrow.
