Hey guys. some of you might remember me from the OBS 7.3 forum, but i recently bought a 6.0. Let me start off with, i love the truck. Takes some getting used to though, compared to my ole 7.3.

I bought a 2006 F350 XLT Crew Cab Short Bed, Snow Plow Prep Package, power windows, locks, air, cruise, tilt, rear manual slider, power heated mirrors with signals, factory steel 18" rims (hate the look of those things), auto lock hubs and electric 4x4 shift. Overall pretty nice truck. Body needs work. rust spot on drivers side of the bed above the wheel, driver front corner needs a new fender and headlight, bumper and white valance above the bumper, PO hit a pole or something. Also could use a new tailgate, for cosmetic purposes. It needed tires when i bought it, and i decided it would be a good time to get new wheels and tires at the same time. i bought Moto Metal MO951 rims, 18x9 -12mm offset. I really like the way the wheels sit on the truck. look good, and stick out just far enough for me. I bought 305/70/18 Mastercraft Courser MXT tires. I was told they are equal to a 35/12.50 tire, and was also told they would fit with the Snow Plow package. Problem is, they rub just a little on the lower front bumper valance and on the rear splash guard (closer to the cab). I dont like that. its not right, and i want it fixed. The only option i seem to know of is to lift (breaks my lil heard to have to lift my truck... LOL) so ive decided on either the 3" Rough Country or the 2.5" SkyJacker. my question is, will replacement coil springs actually add lift if i have the snowplow springs? or would a leveling kit and an add a leaf be better?

get coil spacers, then you have guaranteed lift. Use ReadyLift. That's what we put on all of our work trucks

Im a little lost as to go with a 3", 2.5" lift or just the 2.5 leveling kit. right now my tires rub a little.

Well, they got the tire size close. A 305/70 should be around 34.8" tall and 12" wide. I say go with the 2.5"....It looks nice and proportional and if you just get a spacer, you usually don't have to worry about spring sag in 2-5 years. DO NOT BUY ROUGH COUNTRY/TOUGH COUNTRY SPRINGS if you want any longevity out of your lift.....they WILL sag and lose any gain you had when they were new. Skyjackers are better, but I'd personally stick with the snowplow springs and add a spacer leveling kit. You won't need an add-a-leaf in the rear unless you're just wanting to keep the factory rake or haul more.

FWIW, mine is an '05 with 35 X 12.50 R18s on it and I clear with no rubbing with just a 2.5" front leveling kit......it's a little different for you since you've got negative offset wheels vs. the stock offset, but it'll give you SOME idea :dunno:
