So last week I'm going down the road and have a loss of power, then the truck start slowing down and then dies. I look at the temp guage and it's climbing high. Let it cool off, added a lot of water and got it home. I found the radiator had a small hole in it. Got that fixed but now, it won't run.

It'll fire and seems to do OK while it's cold, but as it warms up it loses power and will die within a few minutes and not restart until it cools off again. I had it scanned and the scanner said to change the injetor oil pump high pressure regulator. Did that and no differene, in fact it seems to run worse now. No smoke or anything. It seems like the injectors lose their umph as it warms up. They get quieter. If I can keep the turbo spooled a little, it will keep running but if it comes down to idle, it will die once warm.

Is it possible when it got hot it damaged the injector o-rings and now they are bleeding pressure? Especially when the oil gets warms and thins out. Oh, did a new oil change since the overheat also.

Thanks for any help.

Pull the valve covers and start it up. Watch for this.

I have a sneaking suspicion it may be the fuel pump. Just replace the inlet fuel line dealy bob on the fuel bowl (it was leaking) and the bowl is not filling back up. The drain valve is closed.

Is there a way to test the fuel pump? I thought I read it should run for 15 seconds at key on. It's doing two things.... Jack and squat!! But, when it's cool it runs. Hmmmm

Ok, so I unhooked the wires from the fuel pump and am only getting 5.5 volts. Batteries are at 13 or so. Ran a jumper on a switch from the battery to the fuel pump and it took right off. BUT, the truck still won't start and now it has no wait to start light. Checked all the fuses and they all seem good. Disconnected the fuel heater also and no dice.

Grrrrrr............

When thru the entire truck and checked ALL the fuses. Everything looks good. Put the batteries on a charger, and still nothing. HOWEVER, yesterday, I put the key in it and the WTS light on, but just for about a second. The truck almost started. Just ckecked again and noted that there is no activity on the tach either now. It was working the other day.

SO, no WTS and no tach movement. I just put a new International brand CPS in last year. but they're cheap enough to try that I guess.

Any other ideas? I don't think the PCM is fried, but you never know.
