I’m pretty sure my motor is bad when I started it there’s a hard misfire and I could hear something rattling around in the motor with a lot of blowby. There’s a shop that will do a motor swap with a used motor at 128,000 miles. Outdoor cost is 15,000 installed. is this a decent deal I also have an offer for $8000 for somebody to come buy it. I’m not sure if I should just get the motor switched out or sell it and buy a whole other truck.

Sidenote, I just bought this truck for 12k about 500 miles ago there was zero blow by and ran absolutely flawless until one day it automatically downshifted and shut off on the side of the freeway. The truck has 350,000 miles and a solid Carfax with oil changes and filters every 7000 miles at a dealer.

The last time I priced out a Ford reman service engine it was not that expensive. Comes complete: turbo, fuel system, manifolds, EGR cooler... $14-15K + labor, with a warranty. Get a good part number and shop around. You did not list the model year. That truck looks good in the picture... worth the money in my opinion and I have seen too many nightmares with a "used" engine.

For example: DC3Z-6007-ARM DC3Z6007ARM Genuine Ford Part

I just went thru this exactly. Wrecked motor u want 15 or 16 year motor ONLY! then they most likely still have have to replace parts. Upper oil pan seal, rear main etc. i opted for brand new ford reman. New everything, injectors, turbo, cp4. All that was 15k and install of 5k. So 20k and he was done in 5 days. Oh and its a 2 yr unlimited mile warranty. Some places i priced the motor was same price but labor cost varied.
