Fellow Powerstroker’s;
I’m trying to get a feel for how much I should ask for my 01 F250 Platinum Edition 7.3l. Its my baby but I don’t need two trucks. She’s just sitting there and when it could be used and appreciated by someone else.
Its a Texas truck I’ve owned it 17 years. I would appreciate honest replies.
I figure I would fellow diesel enthusiasts here since most of you guys really seem to take care your trucks and want get the best use from them. I also want it to go to someone who can appreciate the truck like myself.

It’s very clean, interior looks new. Re-upholstered the front seats from Richmond Upholstery….seats look brand new.
Exterior paint looks great, two door dings and normal small/tiny rock chips here and there. Other than that I get compliments on it all the time. Offers as well but not serious ones.

Here we go: it has 430,000 miles on it and I still drive it all over the country to shooting competitions. I’m a grandpa and as my kids say I drive it like one. Original engine.
Tranny was rebuilt sometime ago. Completely went through the undercarriage a few years back replacing hubs, seals, bearing and rebalancing the drive shaft.
I installed the DieselSite cast-iron water pump, Banks air intake system, Strictly Diesel fuel bowl delete with filter. Rebuilt the turbo with new compressor wheel and put new RiffRaff aluminum plenums on. New CNC Fab stage-2 hpop along with Melling lpop while I was at it. A/C system was replaced 2 years ago. I put a new BAK Revolver X4s tonneau cover on.
Rotors and brakes (front) replaced last year, it was due. Oh, it gas bellows up-pipes, ebpv delete pedestal, oil cooler was rebuilt a few years ago.
She drives very smooth. Never had that infamous death wobble.
The External Visor was removed because it started cracking and no replacement parts were available.
I just really try and take care of the truck with preventive maintenance and the best stuff I can find when replacing parts.
Like I said, I’m just trying to get a feel for a good selling price when I decide to let it go (tears).
I will try and attach some random pics I have.

However you price it, I would specifically spell out in the ad that it’s not an oil field truck. Myself, and I’m sure some others, tend to shy away from Texas trucks for that reason unless there’s not much else available on the market. Just a suggestion…

That’s a really nice truck. You’ll have no problem selling it. Prices are all over the place so it’s difficult to put a number in it.

Pat on the back for keeping such a nice older truck.

Sounds like a nice truck for sure.

I'm interested in the shooting competitions ......

Trap/Skeet?
Benchrest?
IPSC?

I shoot International Confederation Of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) and USPSA Steel Challenge. Fell in love with revolver’s after a friend let me beat him with his own gun. In competition not bludgeon him. 😝. Got to meet the famous Jerry Mic
I get it. After saying I’d never sell my Dad’s 03 that is just finishing up a top end restoration and lots of other upgrades (with heads from CNC fab), we are also considering selling. If it isn’t used regularly, it rots. You’ll make the right decision. Big fan of CNC Fab.
CNC Fab and RiffRaff… Amen brother. That guy Eric at CNC Fab… he made sure I was taken care of, followed up, referred me to RiffRaff when CNC Fab didn’t have the product I needed. Who does that these days. That’s why I posted here to maybe get a feel for the water.

I bought mine back in 2022 with 259,000 miles for $18,000. It has rust on the passenger side rear wheel well and the driver side rear cab corner. Interior has wear with some rips in the driver seat. Your interior and rust free truck with the upgrades i would say anywhere between $15,000 to $20,000 just because the miles. Also keep in mind these trucks are really hard to replace once you let go due to the limited amount manufactured. You have a good looking truck. If you don't mind could we see how the interior looks? I have been looking at redoing my front seats using Richmond Upholstery as well. I want to see how the embroidery of the "Platinum" looks on the remakes.

Gonna have to wait on pics a few more days… long story.
As far as upholstery goes:
Richmond Upholstery reupholstered my front seats. Driver’s side was a little torn on the side. After they installed it, my wife said “do passenger side”, even though it was in perfect shape. Just so they match. The Platinum Edition embroidery is spot on. Because one was installed before other. Perfect alignment, lettering etc. They made the passenger side and installed it in about an hour.

Oh, we were on our way through Houston so we stopped in to see their work. Fantastic workmanship. Sketchiest looking business from the street, but best work I’ve ever seen. There were Rolls Royces, and every high dollar car, customized vans etc. we’re waiting to get seats done.

BTW, My truck is a rust free Texas truck. Nothing ever towed by me either. Saddest thing is my visor cracked over time. It’s an obsolete part… had to remove it. :( My wife says it looks better but I liked the visor.

Thanks for sharing. She’s a beauty! I know you will miss it, as will once I pull the trigger. Getting ready to detail mine and do some sort of justice with pics in the next month.

Where did you post it? I haven’t decided on a site to post on yet. Also a little nervous about the best way to securely complete the transaction.

I have only had a few vehicles in my lifetime and they all last into the 300k-plus range so I am out of touch on selling.

I will add that it is possible for the maker to cancel payment on a cashier check, depending on his relationship with the bank. It doesn't happen often, but it happens.

Hellooooo there Ronney! Beautiful truck! I'm not sure if you know this, but you possibly have a diamond in the rough. The 2001 f250 platinum edition is possibly the rarest truck ever made by Ford with less than 2500 made. They were decked out with alot of bells and whistles. I believe they were made to celebrate some milestone Ford had reached something like a million sales I think. Any how do some more research before you let her go. Reach out to Ford Corporation themselves and see what they can tell you about your truck especially like maybe what number your truck is in production. Might be worth hanging onto or passing on to some kids or grandchildren. Hope this was helpful.

Thank you for the info. It was made for the 25th anniversary from my research. None of my grandchildren want the truck. :( There are couple health reasons I need to sell it. Plus, I don’t believe in letting it sit just to say I have an 01’ Platinum 250. I’d like someone that will appreciate w to own it. But I do hear you on the rarity. I get complemented all the time when I take it out.

Is this truck still available?

My game is to go to CarMax. See what they'll give me. Then look up online ads. I split the difference and hold firm on the price. Everything sells quickly and at asking price.
