Windshield Leak

I purchased a used F350 Platinum in October, 2018. I have noticed in heavier rain storms the windshield leaks in the top left corner and will come out through the A-Pillar handle. I have read in other forums referencing leaks from the cab lights and sunroof, however I have confirmed through pouring water over specific areas that it is the top left of the windshield. Has anyone had this issue and managed to fix the problem without having the entire windshield resealed? Any recommendations?

areuriding, I have taken it to a ford dealer already and they referred me to "the water doctor". I had not confirmed it was the windshield at that time though. Are you sure they will cover that under warranty? I have 70,000 miles on the truck at this point.

I had a tiny bit of water in mine once, same place. My dealer thought it might have gotten in through one of the clearance lights, but they couldn't replicate it with a pressure washer in the shop. I'm curious what you find.

B. Adams, I was told the same thing so I actually removed mine and used some Permatex sealant. I thought I had fixed the issue until a heavy rain proved me wrong. I then started pouring water in various areas and located it at the top left of the windshield. This should really be warrantied regardless, because to me the seal should not fail. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way haha.

Being that it's used and has a decent amount of miles, is there a chance the windshield has been replaced before? It's pretty standard for dealers to replace the windshields as part of refurbishing.

I had a horrible experience in the past from a bad install on one of my vehicles, makes me wish I never had to get one replaced again. It worries me that I read alot of people saying the windshields chip and crack easy and often on the 17+ superdutys.

84flatbed, it doesn't appear as though the windshield was replaced. I had one replaced on a newer Subaru once and it was clear that it was replaced, because they messed up the headliner adjacent to the windshield. Not sure if this is common or not, but nothing is messed up around the windshield on my truck. I think I am going to try a Permatex sealant as I have read that can work on smaller areas. Safelite and other autoglass shops near me refuse to reseal. They say the windshield typically breaks, therefore I have to just buy a new one. I told them I would sign a waiver saying if it did break I would buy a new one, but they refused that as well. Rather frustrating.

I can usually tell if one has been changed by the type of glass. The dealers will often not use the same as original glass. Although not a sure sign because it could have been removed, but the original also has a Kentucky truck plant sticker. Anyway, doesn't really matter.

Every glass guy will warn of breakage if removed, and usually that is what happens. But them not wanting to try even with an agreement from you is bs.
