I've seen a few Motocraft batteries that have a slight leak at the posts, including two I've had. Not saying that's the problem, but id look closely there.

 

Yep, seen a few like that lately from Motorcraft.

 

You should pick up some NCp2 and protect the cables. It’s made to stop battery corrosion.

 

Batteries get wet when they are aroused.

 

Could be damaged and leaking at the posts. Could be overcharging.
Could be nothing but the typical off gassing of a wet cell lead acid battery.
My guess is typical battery aging. Especially if you never clean under the hood. Get a rag and some Simple Green (dilute to 50/50) and clean it up. Keep an eye on it.

 

Thanks for all the replies. I'm gonna clean it off and watch it. Maybe I will be able to tell where its coming from.

 

Be careful when you scrub it. Dont want it to get too excited and squirt acid on ya.

 

Also note aside from the possible post leakage issues
Many folks overfill their wet cell batteries
this can lead to leakage at the caps

 

Thanks zmann. These batteries I haven’t done anything to them. It’s just this one on the passenger side that’s wet.

 

if you have not done " anything" maybe it is so low causing irreversible damage ?
but hopefully you have been checking the levels
