Which Carrier Bearing

I am needing to replace a U joint on my 2 piece driveshaft and figured i'd replace them all along with the carrier bearing.

I'm looking online to order parts and can't figure out which carrier bearing to order?

Most all have a bearing ID of 1.57" but the centerline height varies from 2.3" to 2.7" or so. Some have slingers some don't.

Any clues on which one to get?

I have a 2008 F250 crew cab short bed 4wd.

Thanks in advance for the help!

@bashman you may thank yourself if you just take the whole unit to a driveline shop and have them replace all the parts and they verify true and can rebalance

if you want to get a quality spicer OEM part made for your truck you can ask for a price using your VIN from one of our two ford sponsors

if you opt for the Driveline service buy the Spicer parts from them that way the whole shindig is under warranty

I just sent mine over to the local driveline service and had him do it all, ended up costing me just about the same as it would've cost to pull the parts off the shelf and do the work myself

you won't be sorry IMO

I had all my stuff purchased and was fighting the first U-joint trying to hold the drive shaft and use my press

I could tell I was in for a real pain then the press jack failed and I was actually relieved LOL

i finally had everything replaced at a shop, it was way cheaper than i assumed it would be.

question is this, at one point my truck was lifted somewhat and is now stock. when i pulled the carrier bearing off the truck there were 2 shims there. Is this because it was once lifted or should they go back?

is there some angle i should measure to determine if I need shims? I've never had a lifted truck before.
