and just fyi fomoco coolant is yellow green now and no longer needs testing and refreshing and i put my truck on 5years or 50000 after my first change at 70000 but just my 2 pesos i’m sure there’s plenty here who would disagree here.

 

I do every 50k on all my vehicles. It's not expensive especially when you're doing it yourself. I keep all my fluids and filters changed regularly at earlier intervals than "recommended".

I had initially set up an appointment at a local independent shop, but Ford's estimate was actually a few bucks less, and I like the idea of a Ford tech doing a multi-point inspection before I go off towing my 5th wheel on a trip.

 

So I show up at the Ford dealer this am and I'm told the original estimate of $280 to flush is actually doubled as there is two separate systems on the truck. I'm aware of the primary and secondary systems, and responded by telling them to get the estimate right rather than double it when I arrive. $560 for a coolant flush seems exorbitant, and I just got an estimate of $335 from another Ford dealer. This is exactly why I avoid stealerships....

 

do it yourself for about half that with two distilled water flushes but it takes a good 6 hrs to get it done.
