What type of traction bars? Or none?

Hey everyone.

So I’ve got a block stacked on the factory block on the rear of my truck. I want to lift it abit more and am looking at about a 6 inch block. I don’t experience any axle wrap (that I can feel) at the moment but I’m worried that once I add some more ponies that it could get bad.

I’ve been looking at PMF rear traction bars with their lift block as one unit and the other being the BDS recoil bars. But my understanding is that the BDS bars only go up to 6 inches?

It looks like the BDS bars won’t hurt my articulation as much? But the other setup looks more solid than seperate blocks?

does anyone have some thoughts?
Thanks!

I think it really depends on use of the truck, budget, and what you want the truck to be...

personally 99% of folks run with a rear lift block and longer shocks and are just fine. But.. add a tuner, heavy towing, or bigger tires it can get squiggly.

full set of leafs is my preference but that’s also much more expensive. Now say it’s a mostly stock truck and mild lift with a tuner of bars are cheaper than a spring set I would go that route.

I ran a 2004 and 2006 f350 both 4dr, long beds with 37in+ tires without added traction bars. The 04 had full replacement leafs in the rear though and the 06 had a taller block with oem block in the rear.

Thanks for everyone’s help. OHO’s bars look really good, Riffraff stock them too which is great.

Does anyone have experience with the BDS recoil bars? Or are they too new?

By the sounds of it too, a block with with flatter springs is going to ride a lot better than a leaf pack to run 6-8 inches of height?

Are you actually worried about articulation? How important a factor is articulation and offroad performance?

I'm personally all about long travel leaf springs and a good set of airbags that will complement each other......but.....I've been 1 for 2 on long travel leaf springs and having to deal with axle wrap. I say that <<< because you could end up looking for an axle wrap solution even after "upgrading" to a bigger leaf pack. So in that scenario it may have been better to go with say the OUO offering.

I had 8 in rear leaf springs from superlift on my 2004 f350 4dr long bed, 4x4 with 39.5 toyo mts. Did not ride rougher than other brands I used. I felt they were a tad rougher than oem but help up to towing very well too.... If you can afford a complete spring kit I would advise that over blocks but honestly 995 of folks run blocks in the rear without issues towing/ailydriving etc.

I have had the PMF bolt on traction bars for a few years, big improvement from before and no reduced articulation that I could tell, it's an HD truck so suspension articulation isn't that good to begin with.
