What should I replace when installing a new transmission?

I’m debating having a new transmission installed because of some small issues I’m having with my current one. It has slipped a couple of times in OD when the weather is really hot and I ‘m having some weird shifting issues. This is the original transmission with 240 thousand miles on it. There is also a lot of slack in my drivetrain. I’ve already had the rear end rebuilt and ujoint’s replaced so not much else it could be. I was thinking about throwing in a new rear main seal and maybe a new flex plate because this is my daily driver that I plan to keep for many years. Anything else I should do while I’m at it?

+1 on these items. absolutely good ideas to do. NEVER would i reuse an old torque converter. They trap too much stuff, and it can be a big hassle. Not something I'd like to fiddle with in a daily.

It's a great time to do the turbo up pipes too, get a set of bellowed ones, they're easy to do with the transmission out for sure, loads more space to work on the thing up in there.
