I know this may sound a little easy to be asking but I just wanted to see what you guys do and thought about it. I changed my trany fluid and filter this weekend on my 03 f250 7.3 and it is leakin a lil ATF now. I replaced the gasket cleanded the gasket surface and everything and put the pan bolts to spec which was 11lb....this 11lbs seems a bit low I would normaly just snug them up really good. What do you guys do and why else do yout hink it might be leaking.....seems to be leaking out of the back side of the pan. I blieve I have read before not to use gasket sealer becuase it can get in the trany and mess it up is that right? thanks for any help you can give me!!

Did you get OEM gasket or aftermarket? The gasket is supposed to be reusable. Was your pan bent a little? I'd just snug em up & hope for the best. If it still leaks you may have to take pan off & see if it's bent/ staighten it

It was a OEM gasket that came with the filter. I tightened them up preety good and it seems to leak a very little bit. I willl prob just replace the pan to be sure....only about 30bucks for a replacement pan. Thanks

The hard, stiff gaskets are reusable. Flimsy ones shouldn't be used. I've learned.
Just snug em down good.
If it leaks pull it off and clean all surfaces good

Thanks for your info guys. Ill just snug it all down good.
x2 I would just snug them down and see if that stops it, the idea behing tourqein them is if you go to much it will deform the gasket and make it leak, I have never tourqed them before....maybe I should lol
