Towing difference between DRW and SRW

So, I owe the Ford community an appology. I traded my Ford F-350 in for a Dodge Ram 3500 almost two years ago. Well, after several issues pulling my 5th wheel that I never had with my 2012 F350 and overall dissatification with the ride quality, I am looking at getting back into another Ford.

My question is, what is the difference in 5th wheel/gooseneck towing capacity from DRW to SRW? I've had DRW in my last two trucks, but considering SRW.

Thanks and I will not stray outside the family again.

The DRW is rated to handle a lot more pin weight. It is rather easy to overload the rear axle or tire ratings on a SRW with a heavy gooseneck.

On a more practical level it is a safety deal. I have blown a rear tire towing a trailer and it is a scary experience. With a heavy load you are more likely to blow a tire and a dually gives you a huge safety factor in this scenario.

Having hauled using both SRW and DRW, I will say the DRW handles loads and swaying much better. But (and there is always a but), it's not very friendly for parallel parking (or just parking in general). 99% of the time, I'm either over the lines or hugging them.

Edit: Two more downsides of DRW: 1) 2 more tires to buy and 2) Rotation and balancing is a PITA as you have to dismount the tires
