Testing fuel pressure on 7.3

I am looking to test fuel pressure on my 7.3, I do not have a gauge and I'm not looking to spend a lot on a gauge, will this work to test my fuel pressure on the fuel bowl?

It won't let me post a link, but its harbor freight part number "62623"

If not, can someone find one on harbor freight's website that will work? for pretty cheap?

The problem isn't going to be the gauge as much as the connection (diesel works with either the Fuel or Oil pres gauge kits at HF, look at #62621 and don't forget a 20%-off coupon. I think I like the Oil better for the longer hose but if you're going to use it on other gas cars you might have use for the Fuel kit adapters).

So, what you have to do is get the proper Fittings. The engine doesn't have a fuel pres port, you have to create one. It has -4 ORB threads in the test ports on the filter housing and 1/8" NPT in the ports on the heads.

I have these instructions from Somewhere...

"In order to check the fuel pressure at the fuel filter housing, you will first need to locate the Allen head, bronze colored plug on the rear of the filter housing...it's located about halfway down the housing, and slightly towards the drivers side of the truck.

You'll need a 3/16" Allen wrench to loosen the plug.

The plug you removed is a #4 Male Boss (or #4 O-ring) plug.

To install a fuel pressure gauge, you'll need the following fittings.

(1) #4MB-#4MJIC (#4 male boss to #4 male "JIC") ...JIC is simply 'hydraulic speak' for a 1/4" 37degree flared fitting.

(1) #4FJX-#4MJIC90 (#4 female swivel by # 4 male JIC 90 degree fitting)...the 90 degree fitting is needed to allow the hose to not interfere with intercooler & intake piping."

I am going to be using this gauge strictly for diesel's, although its probably not that big of a deal, I am very anal about contamination and I don't want to use a gauge that had diesel flowing through it on a gas vehicle, vise versa. I like the gauge you showed, that way I can see it probably hooking it on my mirror or something so I can see when I have the key on and then when I start it to measure how much the pressure drops, then give it a few revs. I thought the fuel bowl had a port? from the glowshift install video (I am about to buy gauges) I saw the guy unscrew a port on the bowl and thread in a fitting that came with the glowshift kit in order to measure fuel pressure on the gauge.

EDIT: Ignore, I watched the second video you showed and actually read the thread with my glasses on, I see what you were saying.
