So I was driving around yesterday, and I unplugged my iPhone from the USB port on the Sync panel, after that, the Sync system will not recognize ANY USB item. I tried for 3 hours last night trying to get this to work, but no luck. I think I have a bad USB port now. I really love this truck, but within a month of owning it, I now have an oil leak from somewhere around the oil pan, and a dead USB port.. Not a good start if you ask me. For 46K, this shouldnt be happening.

Not sure what to tell you about the oil problem, however, the Sync just needs to be reset. Pull the fuse for the sync out. Keep it out and start the truck. let it run for a minute and then shut it off. Put the fuse back in and then start the truck again. Plug your phone into the USB port and it should work.

where is the dang fuse panel? is it under the steering wheel like the older trucks?

No, it's under the hood on the drivers side by the just behind the battery!

Found it. Thought I had it fixed, since it worked last night. This morning it quit on me again. I'll just have ford look at it Friday. I refuse to have to reset it daily just to use it.

rode with a friend in his 6.4 and he mentioned that his itouch/iphone didnt work in the usb. had to use the aux.
I've had my truck for 8 months now and the USB has always worked for my Iphone. He might want to take it to ford...

Apparently there is a software conflict between apple and the Sync units. they don't like to work with the iTouch, or iPhone. I did a chat session with a Sync representative and they said there will be an update via iTunes when the software is ready. the regular iPods are ok to use for listening to music though.
