Stripped Valve Cover Bolt

Was tracking down oil leak that appeared to be coming from the passenger side valve cover. Started checking bolts, and the bolt closest to the firewall just spins and spins. I backed it out, and found a few fine metal strings in the threads. Looks like may have stripped the threads a bit in the head. The bolt will thread in and it feels like threads grip enough to back it out. Bolt will wiggle a bit once started, but never tightens up.

Options?? Don't really want to helicoil the aluminum head, but has anyone possibly tapped the hole a size bigger and put another bolt in it?

Did a bit more digging, may try a longer M6x1.0 bolt to see if it can grab some better threads deeper in

I have tried/done a lot of things but I have never heard of that one. I like it. I hope I never need to but if I do I'm trying this one out.
